This song relates alot of what i go through day after day. Maybe its not the meaning, but it sure is my meaning for this song. It's about the struggle between the spiritual battlefield against good and evil. Its about what Jesus says you are, and what the devil lies to you about. It starts out about someone being scared because of his thoughts about what hes done, or guilt. You will never be strong enough You will never be good enough You were never conceived in love You will not rise above That's what the devil tries to persuade you to think about yourself while.. he goes on to talk about what Jesus has done for him, and what is doing coming through as a blinding light. and he rememebers what jesus tells him about himself.. "Rest in me and I'll comfort you I have lived and I died for you Abide in me and I vow to you I will never forsake you" but thats just my take... |

Im a Christian, and when hearing this song, it made me think of it as the sin nature of life and how shes trapped in it. And moved it like a slow dance Still I don’t understand It pushed me like a tailwind And I don’t understand And it came in through the back door And I don’t understand ^ in my opinion, its referring to what sin does to her, how it can move her, in a way, but yet push her in a way to do things she can't help but do. It picked me like a cherry And I don’t understand And it killed me with the craving Still I don’t understand It thrilled me to starvation And I don’t understand And it stripped me ugly naked Still I don’t understand ^ Here referring as to sin found her, and wanted her, and she wanted it, but as all sin, we are all empty still when we have it in our lives, it doesn't fulfill us, and it just makes us feel littlier I believe the Hurricane coulda been God's grace pullin her out of what she is trapped in, which is her sin. The best describtion that I find this song to have meaning for, is actually the relation between and young parent and her baby. here i'll try to break it down a bit on how i see it. One baby to another says I'm lucky to have met you - the baby is saying this to his young mother I don't care what you think Unless it is about me - and the stubborn immature mother is thinking this to her baby It is now my duty to completely drain you A travel through a tube And end up in your infection - the child is sayin that its my duty to do what im doign to you and affecting you in these kinda ways maybe as a life lesson. Chew your meat for you Pass it back and forth In a passionate kiss From my mouth to yours I like you - the mother here is matturing and learning to nuture her baby and startin to fall in love with her child With eyes so dialated, I've become your pupil - could mean that the baby is now the center of the mothers eye, everything she sees now has to do with the baby. You've taught me everything Without a poison apple - the baby has taught her everything she needs in life, like lessons of true love, without being someone evil from the world and a manipulator The water is so yellow, I'm a healthy student Indebted and so grateful - Vacuum out the fluids - she was a healthy just normal person, living how she wanted to, and now she is just so greatful that she doesn't need to be what she thought she wanted to be anymore thers just my opinon, but when i think about it, Kurt might have been feeling those feelings towards his child. who knows. thats just my take on it. |

| I'm a Christian, but I wasn't necessarily shocked or strucken when I heard the lyrics to this song, bascially because he didn't understand Christ. I really wish he had too, in my opion, I think that his life would be so much more fulfilled and happier, but thats just what I think from experience. This isn't about religious and no ones forcing it on you guys, if u want to listen, u will, and if u don't, well that is also ur right, but it is my right as a Christian to post comments like this and it is also Jlmmy_Hoffa 's also. I am actually very proud of him for being able to witness to people who may reject what he says. But that, as Christians, is also our jobs, and our duties, that we like to do for people who are missing out on the good stuff of life. lol. Not for nothing, but this is a good way to get to people, through this song, because there are so many myths and mismeanings about Jesus our Christ. Yet, you still dont have to listen, I just wanted to back up Jlmmy_Hoffa . and JackalMasta, Jesus loves everyone exactly the way they are, He died for us while we were still sinning, not when we were good people, he wants u to follow him to live a fulfilling life now, and after. and for the record, there are manipulative people in this world, and sadly to say they label themselves as Christians, but even Christians sin. If we didn't, we would have no use for Jesus anymore. so u gotta think on that end too, yes we know and beleive in something that a majority of the people dont, but we are just like u no different. we are still goign to be manipulative at times, we are still going to be greedy at times, we're humans thats what it boils down to.God bless. | |
