the grey fool said: "no way cherry moon, even if you're only laughing at your own not clever joke, the woman's not bi-polar." I'm not so sure about that. Maybe not bi-polar, but I think Mr. Joel is talking about a real, specific woman here; not an abstract concept of something unattainable. I used to just enjoy this song and think it was good music. Only recently have I come to understand how powerful the lyrics really are. I think he's talking about a woman he loves who does these things (who may be bipolar or depressed) and how he reacts to it. If its true, he has the patience of a saint. I empathize. |
