I read that this song was written with excerpts from notes lead singer Paul Gonzenbach wrote while struggling with a recurring mental illness. The whole "Picks Us Apart" album seems to be right along the same lines, of dealing with Paul's mental illness. What I love though is that the songs are never instrumentally dark or depressing, instead the lyrics are backed by steady drums and guitar work best described as pretty. |

Ok, I have heard people say that this song is about like loving someone but not wanting to love them. And to those people all I can say is read the lyrics some time, and pull your head out of your depression. He clearly says
