It's one of the best driving songs EVER. I hate it when people bash this song. Sure, it's not one of the best by U2, but it still a kick arse track. After 20 years of work, they are entitled to explore new areas of music, and let Pop be one of them. I must say though, this was the most disappointing tour in history. It was insanely overdone. |

There is a little escapist in all of us. I can't tell you how many times, how many nights I have spent, weeping and singing this song through sobs.. absolutely passionately. One day, I'll fly away. |

Nicole Kidman is a Goddess, plain and simple. I cannot wait to wear the costume from this scene on Halloween ;D I am so thrilled that she is going to be recording an album. Her voice is awesome. This song is so fun to listen to driving in the 1st lane of the freeway at 80mph, with the windows down and this blaring. Just be careful of the turns in the road while you're squealing "OWWW!". It get's tricky. |

I agree that it is the most broadway-type of song on this album and in this film. The use of this song is brilliant. The lyric "inside my heart is breaking, my make up may be flaking, but my smile still stays on" was so perfect for Satine. This song is really the epitome of the emotion of having to push forward in times where you just want to give up. Everyone can relate to it. Beautifully staged and beautifully sung. |

Everytime I hear this song or watch this scene, it's so incredible. The emotions it conveys and the sheer intensity.. it's so powerful. I get chills every time. The lyrics "why doesn my heart cry", etc. were written for Ewan to sing to the classical tune that is harmonized with Roxanne. Those words are beautiful and add a gorgeous contrast. I am so impressed by this movie everytime I see it. It's my all time favorite. And good lord, Ewan can sing! He makes Bono look like a fool. Bono was God to me as a child and young teen, so for me to say that... He must have talent. |
