LBC isnt that greart of a place...its kidna scary at times and really ghetto. i went last summer, but such an experiance...really its kewl! YAh i hear ya...its liek a slap in the face that sublime isnt around anymore.....well for concerts atleast. *sigh* this is defiantley one of my fave. sublime songs....
heres a little story:
i was at a party at my buddies and there were lik 6 of us that LOVE sublime, so we just sat aropund the campfire and all of a sudden we started singing this song. there wasnt any music and we were all so drunk it sounded liek shit, but it was so soulful and just the best experiance ever. really, one of the best ones of my life!!!

also...one last rant for now...dont bash a band for being successful....maybe its coz in canada....unless u have the wierd digital cable or satellite, we only get much music...which is the canadian version of MTV. its bad, but not THAT bad, as far as plastering good bands out there for avril lavigne freaks to lash on to like leeches. i dunno, but i was just reading over all these comments, and its kind of nice to have a band slow it down and open yer eyes up into their world, and write songs that really mean something. I love all the ataris stuff, old and new, but theres no reason to "toss their album under yer bed" or whatever..just coz they are gettin nore popular. thats lame and stupid....i dunno. once again, sorry to rant, thats like 3 posts in a row. |

ugh, with all that i forgot to mention what i get outta this song. Hmm, I dunno, everyone interprets stuff their own way, but I think this song is totally about just growing up and how stuff changes. People change, people move, u lost to touch, everythign that was so important is the last thing on yer list now. And just i dunno, everyoen does crazy stuff with theyre friends, youll remember forever...i dunno, this song just speaks to me. As cliche and lame as that sounds. But this song is al about my summer like 3 years ago of grade 10. Ill never forget the people or that summer, we were like family, and its wierd coz 3 years l8r, none of us barely talk, let along hang out. Things change so fast, and its just a nice song, it makes u think about yer friends, the good times, the bad times, just memories. and its a really good song for me rtight now, coz i just graduated....and i dunno...its like a slideshow of your life and friends goes thru year head when u listen to this song, its amazing, and i love it. i probably could have said that all in like 2 sentances...sorry. |

ALEXM12351: is there really a reason to label it? I mean honestly. if you like it you liek it. Does it really matter if its pop, punk, country for god sakes. Whatever youre into, is what youre into. I dont know why people feel they hafta slap a label on everything. Its music, and thats all there is to it, wheterh it be pop or punk, theres no reason to label it, and a GOOD band doesnt say yahhhhw ere punk rock, yahhh. you just do youre thing and hoever it comes out, is how it comes out. Like all good bands, the ataris have grown and changed their music and lyrics. I think kris roe is a lyrical genious, hes amazing. Their songs totally capture everything about life and beign young and dealing with all that shit. I dont mean to sound lliek one of those ppl that just rambles about music. but hoesntly, but quoting brad from Sublime, "good music is good music, and that should be enough for everybody" i alwyas dont mean to like chew you out, but really, if im like hey i love the ataris, theyre such a good punk band, or theyre such a good emo band or pop band, whatever, however u interpret their attitude, their music and their lives is how u do, but really its just music, there is no need to slap a label on and put down ppls "takes" on their music.

This song is SO sad....i like how he connects things with hsi present and past life. Kris does that in a few songs...actually quite alot, witjh liek his dad, and his daughter. (in this one). this is such a good song. The ataris stuff really makes u see that theyre all everyday ppl, that just play geetar and write good music. they have problems to, and its nice that their songs kinda let u see into their lives. that sounds wierd, but does tha tmake sense? |

It seems to me, that its about a guy (kris) just kinda sitting down, lookin at his life and everythign around him and being liek what am i doing? am i wasting my time? when im thru with this all, did i really make a difference? was it all worth it> thats what it seems, kinda like one big question about life and what to do with it.
thats how i get it, but its a great song, i agree...this album is much more personal. U can see how the ataris have grown over the years in this. |

aw...the ataris are a great band. Really, the lyrics are incredible. And i swear every ataris song is a page in my life, its insane...This is prob. one of the best bands "young" ppl can relate to. They jsut let ya know yer not the only one with shit going on and u will get thru. that was my ramble...sorry ha ha. |

This is definatley one of the best ATARIS songs. I love it. I think everybody can relate to this song. Only in my case, as somebofdy else said, its your girlfriend sucks. Honeslty, ppl always go for the bad ppl and "nice guys finish last"...quoting greenday. ha ha |
