I am a 16 year old guy, and this song has made me cry, on multiple occasions. I think it's about a relationship gone bad, but personally, I relate to it as a relationship that never even got started in the first place - unrequited love. Like the part "Tell you I'm sorry, you don't know how lovely you are." - it's almost like he is saying he is sorry he loved her so much. Whenever I start to fall in love with someone out of my league, I usually realize it in my head, but my heart refuses to accept that I have no chance. That's what the beginning of the second verse "I was just guessing...do not speak as loud as my heart" is about to me. Do any of you interpret the song in a similar way? Anyways, great song! Coldplay is one of my favorite bands. |
