I love this song...it's a good-depressing song. Really though, everytime I listen to this song...I get this feeling inside...and it actually feels like my heart is sinking. It's weird. This is a very depressed-romantic song. The most powerful verses in this song for me are: "And I don't want the world to see me 'Cause I don't think that they'd understand When everything's made to be broken I just want you to know who I am And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming Or the moment of truth in your lies When everything feels like the movies Yeah, you bleed just to know you're alive" The chorus explains exactly how I feel sometimes. I don't want to talk to people or tell them about me because I just don't think they'd understand how I feel or misunderstand something...or maybe just laugh/make fun of me. I'm not one to throw out my feelings to just anyone. But then again I just wish I could find that someone...a best friend, boyfriends...whatever...who knows how I feel. Who can relate to me...who can understand. Sometimes that would just make life a whole lot easier. The second verse is good too. Sometimes certain moments in life are so shocking, so hurting...or maybe so unbelieveably good...that you just think "this is happening to me". Maybe sometimes you just want to be dead...or maybe you feel like you're dead...and no one really bothers to realize that you exist... |

Hey now...maybe that's what it means to them! It can mean a NUMBER of different things to different people. That what's so awesome about lyrics and music -- is that it's so versatile. This song has great vocals, though I'm not sure what I think it means yet...I'll come back when I can put my thoughts into words! All I can say so far is that the lyrics are good, the vocals are good...as well as the music. I love when John sings: "Hold on dreamaway. You're my sweet charade." |

Well this song can mean whatever you want it to mean to you. But for the GGDs...to them, they said it was about someone's heroin addiction and how it wrecked havoc on that persons life and the peoples lives around that person. The part where the music stops...and John sings strongly, "And there's no time left for losin'." is a very powerful part of the song for me! It almost gives me chills. =) |

This is a neat song...lyrics are good...sound is good. Overall: Really nice! John said it was a song he wrote about when he moved to L.A. from Buffalo and suffered culture shock because everyone there is so self-absorbed. Haha, I can believe it. =) |
