I think that third tragedy is close. But i think the song is pretty much about all the hassle daryl has received about breaking Edge. There is a line on the El Mark itunes release where he says "As a matter of fact you owe me (your biggest fan)" and i think that he kind of felt he was past being straight edge, but people were giving him so much shit for it and so many people were saying "how could you sell me out"?

This is a good song, and no Daryl is no longer straight edge. He used to be, he even has the xXx tattooed on his inner lip. But that's not the issue here. First off straight edge, or not, you need to respect each other. Dont tell straight edge kids to do drugs, and that drugs are cool, they dont want to get off it. And same vice versa, just respect each other and i think everyone can enjoy the site more. The song to the best of my knowledge is about popular rock music i could be wrong. Also Daryl never openly admitted to being straight edge, that was the guitarist of glassjaw. Glassjaw had to recently cancel all there tour dates (as well as head automatica), because daryl is having a Crohn's Disease relapse. From what i hear it is easily irritated from alcohol, so his recent interest in the drugs and alcohol etc may have cause it. |
