GlriusBlnknDshWrld...i definitely agree with you: i don't think of this song as an expression of breakup or rejection, either. what i think of when i read these lyrics is someone who falls hard and quick for someone else and the other person just hasn't quite caught up, emotionally. i am, actually dealing with a similar situation right now. i have been casually dating this guy for a while, now and i am just starting to like him a lot, but i am unsure about whether or not it is a good idea to tell him how i feel just yet ("should I tell you everything?"). i feel like i am constantly guessing about how he feels towards me ("'cause I know it's too soon for you to see me"). i feel like i might be rushing the relationship ("Why does my heart always beat before yours does?"). all in all, even though it sucks being way into someone when you have no real clue whether they think about you the same way or not, i am choosing to give it some time and be patient in seeing what happens. sooner or later, he will figure out what he wants and i will be here waiting for him ("After a while you can make yourself believe in almost anything,
so I'm making myself believe in you").

First of all, these lyrics mean so much to me...chris is such a talented songwriter. Also, the way he sings the song makes it so much more personal, as well. It just ruins a great song when the vocalist doesn't personalize it by expressing his feelings through it. i love this song...my friend gave me this cd a few months ago and i have been hooked on bodyjar ever since. they definitely don't get the respect they deserve, but i kindof like it that way. i would hate to see them turn into some kind of trl pop group. is that selfish??? oh well... |

i think its ok for chris to be a christian and to also have sexual references in his songs...he doesnt call dashboard a christian band (or..whatever). many people are christian but that doesn't mean that they don't talk about (or have) sex. and he might not even be talking about what you think...'getting some' does not necessarily mean 'sex'. |

paula abdul might not be the most talented vocalist, but i still love everything that she sings because i can relate to every song. This is my favorite song of hers because it explains the frustration that you have within when you are trying so hard to get through to someone but it never quite sinks in and never really works out the way you want it to. These lyrics describe the torture that you go through when you give so much love to one person and it never quite makes it back to you in return.
