i'm surprised that no one else has picked up on this, or it could just be because i'm crazy, but there seems to be an whole other level to this song in the very presentation of it. The lyrics building up to the the very painfully sung ones right before the song mellows out seem to have a touch of sadism in them, and the way the song builds up to a screaming moaning climax, then mellows out sort of makes me think if maybe there's an intentional parallel to an orgasm of some sort. Not to be vulgar, but listen with the thought in mind, and see what you think. |

Good song, awesome video...it's sort of like Right Now by Van Halen where the video's better then the song. |

yeah, 37 slurp = cool.
Ever been to one of the fun lil' shows at the Northbranch Fire House? I've seen them there a few times. Right after 9/11 they played this and dedicated it to osama bin laden. It was cool. |

I love the lines "maybe when I'm done with endings, this can begin" and "if I could be your first real heartache, I would do it all over again." It's just flat out good quality writing. |

Yeah, but then what does the line "she's overcompensating for what she can never let go of" mean? I think it's about how he thinks she's doing fine, but really she's as torn up as him, and wants to forget it and cant. |

It's about pretending to be some one else to fool people and get what you want. The author is the only person who see through this person's false personality and all the 'help' and intentional bad advice they're offering everyone else. |

I sort of think it has something to do with the fact that after a relationship or a friendship or anything like that end, sometimes the other person will try and do things to hurt you (or vice versa) and how hard it is to deal with that. |

I think the beginning of this song (you can never tell me i shouldn't walk away its foolish to assume that ill be coming back another day you were never right and i was never wrong does truth lie in sincerity of another sullen song) is right up there with the all the classic song intros of all time. |

Any one seen the video for this? It's awesome, maybe a bit disturbing though. |

Maybe I'm a little of base with this...but I think there might be a connection. The Moody Blues (if you dont know who I'm talking about, you need to study up on rock history) had a song called Question. I just sort of wonder if maybe The Ataris called this song Answer as a tribute to the Moody Blues. Or maybe I'm insane. |

It's fine to take back i love you even if you really mean it. This song reminds me so much of a friend of mine who was the first person I ever really loved, and then he went and ruined things. |

| Midtown – Like A Movie Lyrics

Some one once criticized me for 'treating my life like a movie'. That, plus the fact that he's the one who got me started on being obsessed with Midtown, makes the irony in this song so great for me I think I'm gonna explode ever time I hear it. |
