| The Beatles – Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| They did do LSD, but that is the direct quote from Julian, who said, "It's Lucy in the sky with diamonds," and that's why they he didn't change the order. The acronym is coincidental. A big coincidence, yeah, but a coincidence still. | |
| The Beatles – Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds Lyrics | 21 years ago |

Here's what a friend of mine named John Lennon, coincidentally, the man who wrote the song, said: "I saw Mel Torme intruducing a Lennon-McCartney show, saying how 'Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds' was about LSD. It never was, and nobody believes me. I swear to God, or swear to Mao, or to anybody you like, I had no idea it spelt LSD. This is the truth: My son came home with a drawing and showed me this strange looking woman flying around. I said 'What is it?' and he said 'It's Lucy in the sky with diamonds,' and I thought, 'that's beautiful.' I immediately wrote a song about it. And the song had gone out, the whole album had been published, and somebody noticed that the letters spelt out LSD. It wasn't about that at all. The images were from Alice in Wonderland. It was Alice in the boat. She is buying an egg and it turns into Humpty Dumpty. It's not an acid song." That about clears it all up for me. And, knowing that they had been open about drug influences in past songs previous to this one, he had NO reason to deny it. Believe it, or not. That's it. Thanks. |

| Pink Floyd – Hey You Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| The wall is a story. Songs have meanings. If you can't "slap a meaning" on something, then what can you do with it? People express the meaning through what they write so people that havent been there can have an idea. I think what I'm trying to say is: I completely disagree with Mr. Nice Guy | |

"soakin' wet" not "soak and wet" "skeet so much they call her Billy Ocean" not "speak so much they call her Billy Ocean" :) |

| The Beatles – Let It Be Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| supermanman67, the religous Mother Mary isn't "some nun." Just thought you should know that. Paul wrote it about his mom, but he's a smart guy, I'm sure he intended that to be left to interpretation. | |

| The Beatles – Julia Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| How do you die "almost suddenly"? Is that somewhere in between suddenly and gradually? | |
| The Beatles – The Ballad of John and Yoko Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| One: To be crucified was a concept before Jesus, and is still a concept that can be looked at on a completley secular level. Two: song4julia, i'm not following your logic. Synthia was prettier, therefore John should have stayed with her? John and Yoko were completely in love, aside from whether Yoko was pretty or not. Three: Yoko is looked at as the woman who broke up the Beatles, but with the way things were going, it was bound to happen. I don't think its fair to make ourselves feel better about a bad situation by blaming it on somebody convenient. | |

| John Lennon – God Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I agree with a lot of what you guys say. I also think that, underneath all the religious metaphors and whatnot, John was just trying to tell the world, "Hey guys, the Beatles are not coming back. They're done, forget them." | |
| Bachman-Turner Overdrive – You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| This band is my hometown heros. Even though they were just a one hit wonder, being able to say I can go to Bachman mansion anytime I want to is pretty awesome, and I love this song. | |

| Britney Spears – Toxic Lyrics | 21 years ago |

I'd like to take away all of the music, and the beats, and whatever other hoopla and sound effects are in the background, and then listen to just her voice, unsupported. And then I would laugh..... and laugh..... and laugh...... because she's gotten so frail and washed up. I watch the younger videos of her singing at county fairs and things on tv, and she actually had a voice! I think her boobs are suffocating her. Personally, I don't mind. still laughing ;) |

| The Beatles – Michelle Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Michelle. One of the two most wonderful Beatles songs ever. The other is Norwiegan Wood. Both from Rubber Soul. There, I said what needed to be said, and I can't believe that you all spent so much time repeating the same thing over and over again, "These are words that go together well." Cheers. | |
| The Beatles – Good Night Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Who's to say that there's no meaning in it? Did you write it Bobo192? I'm not meaning offense, but I'd have to say that any song I've ever heard has some sort of meaning... whether I agree with it or not, without meaning, there would be no song. Being that Lennon and McCartney are also two of the most acclaimed musical visionaries of our time, I think it has lots of meaning. | |

| Deftones – Minerva Lyrics | 22 years ago |
|
This song as absolutely amazing. The messages that are underneath the music are incredibly profound, and so I can't help but sit and play it over and over and just... think ya know? A lot of times I wonder why everyone adds comments trying to come to "the ultimate" conclusion of the meaning of music lyrics. Music can be interpereted differently by anyone, and that doesn't mean anyone is right or anyone is wrong. I hope that makes sense. Of course, I am not trying to imply that you are all wrong, because you're not. Okay, now I will get to the point. I write poetry, and I know that may sound dumb, but it isn't. Anyway, I first heard this song... "Minerva", who I think you all know by now is the Roman goddess of wisdom and arts. The song immediately reminded me of a poem I had written a long time ago, also named after a roman goddess, Maia. Maia is the goddess of Earth and Spring, and I had completely forgotten about this poem until I heard this song, so I think the song kind of brought it back to life, you know? So I am going to post it and if anybody has any input and such please feel free to comment, because that is what i need to get better right? Thank you! Maia On my outstretched arms Your breath now defined, As I stand in spring Facing what perils in the sun Lie on this spinning home, Yours. In the blossom’s time, Splendor now embraced As you brought me here To hold me High on the wings of Perpetuity, The meaning of love. You hold my life As a divinity only felt In the heart, When time is boundless and What is here only a Figment, Maia, take me away. Captured an immortal instant, Like being in love again With a first kiss Beneath a prodigious moon. Standing there Forever, wishing that she Would return, Trapped beneath the everlasting sky As if it were there to Take away all meaning on that Spring night. Thoughts again, Only knowing the truth There for her, Keeping love in my Outstretched arms, Missing life, Maia, take me away... |

| System of a Down – Chop Suey! Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| Whooooa... shit! I decided to read a bit of the novel and i caught something about the Roman church hiding the truth. Choke it out man... I aughta beat your ass... explain if you are still around. | |
| System of a Down – Chop Suey! Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| The vocals are amazing; incredibly bitter-sweet. Listen to more than the lyrics and it can mean more than the lyrics. We can argue about religion, faith, vocation, anything... but without the music there is no inspiration in this piece, at least not for me. ***I would also like to congragulate FaDeD SmOkE for writing a novel, that must have taken a lot of work, and entirely too much time that you shouldn't even have on your hands. I mean, holy shit... concise? I think thats a dictionary word... get to the point buddy.*** | |
| System of a Down – Johnny Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| I am reading all these comments about what this song is about... and person after person giving their views and all... so I'm goanna add my bit. SOAD is one of my favorite bands, and I have been a fan since the beginning, but I have noticed over the years that many of the songs seem to have somewhat artificial lyrics. They make an attempt at very deep, profound things, and a lot of the time fall short. This song makes an impression on a person, with the way the vocals vary and harmonize with the guitars, but the lyrics seem fake. Listen to Aerials sometime, it's the same concept I think. | |
