um you guys are quite aware that this is nothing new? the strokes, vines, hives, white stripes, doves, haven, they are bringing nothing new to the table of rock at all.... they are not brilliant or life-savers or anything. all they are doing is simply regurgitating old 70's punk and proto-punk...its just a garage rock revival thing thats going on, and hopefully it doesn't last too long. its cool that you guys like em and stuff, i don't care for them at all, but this stuff isn't brilliant. this was done a long time ago. nothing brilliant, just good music, if you dig it. |

where are you people getting the idea that ian is now a drinker??? he's not! ok? i just read in an article about him that he is still as sXe as ever! geez, so this is how rumours start... and also about the teen idles, ian mackaye was in the band (frontman of minor threat, obviously) and they were the first DISCHORD band. they were not calling themselves straight edge, that term was not coined until this song was written by ian himself when he joined minor threat. the teen idles did however put x's on their hands, its on the front cover of their album "minor disturbance". this was so that underage kids who went to see shows would not be allowed to drink. after the song "straight edge" was released kids tapped in to using the x's to show that they were straight edge, since it ment that they weren't allowed to drink at shows anyway. as a matter of fact, the teen idles had a song called "milk and coke", which obviously coins their two favorite and much-preffered beverages. its cool to see lots of straight edgers gravitate here.

songs funny, ok, thats fine, i just find it immature, childish, and not to put so quite fine a point on it, not funny. i can get the same humor from some horny pre-pubescent kid. im just coming here to have people listen to me, to have open minds. judging from what you said in the above, i haven't been able to open your mind, or enlighten you from the other point of view. simply put, if it didn't make you think at all, well, i wasn't talking to you, mr. closed-mind. im talking to the people willing to get their heads out of blink 182s ass for a second to realize that maybe blink 182 is not what you think they're cracked up to be. |

THEY DID. the definition of SELLING OUT is when a band on an indie label signs on to a major label, be it for the money or not. thus, blink 182 are sellouts. and money is not necessarily "good", at least imho, its just needed to live and get thru life. also emo kid, good comments and all, but ....unfortunately i don't think blink even sounds good. i think the music is crap. but, hey...thats me right? |

I LOVE FRODUS. i met shelby and jason a while back and they are the nicest people that anyone could ever meet. Frodus has top of the line lyrics and this one is no exception. The Slow Riot For New Zero Kanada is one of my favorite Eps of all time, pailhead's trait, fugazi's furniture +2 and black flag's nervous breakdown notwithstanding. the words to hear totally inspire me to go out and support what i believe in, cuz thats what bbf3 is doing himself. although i think moya is definitly better (it made me cry for gods sake!), bbf3 is a great closer. i can't wait to see these guys in concert, if ever. also you guys should check out hrsta, fly pan am, a silver mt. zion or molasses......awesome stuff....GYBE! forever..... |

I particularly have never liked Weezer's sound myself, and also found River's voice annoying, but hey, thats me right? The thing I mostly had to say here was how incredibly disspointed I was with the Green Album. They went on talking, and Rivers kept on saying how he had all these lyrics, and they had a new sound, I thought maybe this would be the CD that would make me like Weezer. I proceeded to listen to it at the local book store, and immediately left with a bad taste in my mouth. THIS WAS IT? After five fucking years, and tons of lyrics, he picked out some average lyrics, the band quickly made up some almost hardcore like riffs (ala Hash Pipe) and then called it an album. This is what we get after FIVE years of no Weezer???? I was so hyped! I wanted it to be the best CD ever and the band held my hand the whole way, then dropped me on my face with the destructive blast that is the Green Album. Also folks, I know I'm going to get blasted for this, but this is the honest TO GOD TRUTH I SWEAR IT. I was at a friends house and he shows me this recent issue of renowned magazine GUITAR WORLD. In the magazine they had an interview with Weezer (a little after Green). I decided to read it to see if Rivers had any excuse for their sorry-ass production. Unfortunately he said something that made me hate the bastard forever. He said something to the extent of how he hated his fans, and they were a bunch of bitches and pricks. What an asshole! I wanted the Green album to be good in the worst way, instead, i got laughed in the face by the label, the band and everyone associated with the album.
THIS HAS BEEN MY OPINION. WHINE BITCH MOAN ALL YOU WANT ABOUT WHAT I HAVE SAID, BUT ITS WHAT I'VE SAID AND I STICK TO MY WORDS WHOLE HEARTEDLY UNLESS I CAN BE PROVEN WRONG WITH FACTS, NOT YOUR OPINIONS. |

I think the five minutes of my life spent typing that was well spent. All I want is people to LISTEN. I don't care what difference it makes, its just people need to be more open and get their head out of Blink 182's ass to see that they didn't spend their life on this, they probably spent 10 minutes writing this song and others like it. Blink has songs that can be considered good, but trash like this just brings it down. Im not hoping to bring them down I don't even care, I'm just trying to get people to have more of an open mind. |

HOLY SHIT. i can not believe that songs like these even exist.....its like....like tom green found a voice to sing through or something. point aside i don't see whats so funny about this song, some horny/perveted middle schooler could write just about the same. i think the only reason your fawning over it is becasue its your cherished blink 182 and you wouldn't want to insult them. WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE GUYS, this band could be done, and is done, ten times better by any indie band, or hell, really any band. the only reason they are commercially succesful is because kids sucker into this, and see blink as the next big thing, so they fugure, well, whatever album they come out with its going to be full of chodes, vaginas, fucking dogs and all that. doesn't that just sound delightful? in conclusion anyone who also replies and says i am "gay" i would just like to say beoferhand you are "judgemental", because if youve never met a person, how the fuck can you know? and im not gonna "shut the fuck up!!!!111" until you people realize that this band is corrupting your idea of what a good band should be. also everyone who hates blink, like me, don't jsut come in here and simply state "blink sux". thats not going to get your point across. thesse people have so much trash in their minds already, its just cluttering it up with statements like that, be intelligent and rant.

well for the most part you guys are right, but no guys ian does not drink. i saw him at the fort reno show and him with this and he was actually ANGRY that i would say that. he's still as sXe as ever, although i don't know if he's married and had kids or whatever, cuz joe lally had, but whatever. i ditto on every comment to fuck drugs alcohol and permiscuous sex, and finally id like to add that if you guys really want to know THE Minor Threat story check out a book called "Our Band Could Be Your LIfe" at your library or buy it somewhere, its a truly awesome book, the story of 11 (i think) punk and hard core bands from late 70's to early 90's. its really worth anywones time if they want to know the story behind huge indie names like husker du, minutemen, mission of burma, black flag, minor threat, dinosaur jr, sonic youth and a few others. definitly worth a purchase, but if not at least seek it out at the library.

first ditto on the sentiment by lets kill music. anotherstupidpunk, fugazi does not mean fuck in italian. when ian was looking for a name for his new band he was reading a book about vietnam, and one of the guys in the book said fugazi, which was a nam slang word for "fucked up got ambushed zipped in" or a "messed up situation". and dont be ashamed to wear that shirt. fugazi is the greatest band in the world! |
