i've listened to this song a bajillion times, and every time it gets to the part "that let us bet when you know we should fold," it sounds like "that let us ran when we know we should've fallen." i dunno if that's correct or makes sense. |

i think the song is about grendel from beowulf. he longed to be like his counterpart, beowulf and the human race in general, and was bummed out that he was what he was. im sure it's not literally about grendel, but more of an analogous comparison to some real event that happened to jeremey or some other band member, but it sure sounds like somebody being bummed out for being what they are and not being accepted, much like grendel, the misunderstood "monster." |
