they dont believe in the whole evolution through drugs. its just an idea that they foudn interesting. they watched 2001 like 40 times in a month before making this album or something like that. they merely used these audio tracks to further set this album as a concept album. in 2001, the monolith enlightens people and sets them onto the next stage of their evolution. almost like an idea box. they explore the idea that drugs are like a monolith in that they were possibly a driving force to the next stage in evolution. |

like many of mudvayne songs hes wishign for death (rebirth) although mudvayne has some pretty evil lyrics they seem to have this idea of "god takign them away" and leaving the world. in this song the way the speaker is reborn is by using drugs "await rebirth as i roll up my sleeve". and he feels warm after he shoots up or he feels a sense that he feels better when on drugs. but really after doign it so much that "life is death now". or maybe im just talking out of my ass |

this is an awesome song and shows that vedder is a damn good poet. reminds me of something at some coffeeshop with bongos and shit. the meaning of it is pretty self explanatory. |
