most writers could not write a song who's meaning is so obvious and be this poetic at the same time. most people could make the song obvious but not so poetic, or more poetic but very ambiguous...not jack, he makes it obvious and petic..absolute genious! |

I think its great that he points out that more people died than cried about their deaths. the line "so baby close your eyes to the lullabies on the news tonight" intrigues me. i am wondering if it is just that he (as a child) would be going to bed at the same time that the news is on or what. like, this awful news is just a lullaby. i think maybe it is just pointing out how we shield children from the true evil in the world. mama is saying it isnt real so he (again as a child) doesnt worry about it. great song |
