| Nirvana – You Know You're Right (Home Demo) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
"This'll never open hate For me is here to say" I believe the line here is "It's another opiate But for me it's everything" |

| Nirvana – Old Age (Box Set) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Can someone please tell me what a "nevous" is? Lots of you have used it in your versions and as far as I know it isn't a word. | |
| Rihanna – SOS Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It doesn't only sample the riff but contains a few more references to Tainted Love such as the line "You got me tossin' and turnin' and can't sleep at night" which is very similar to "I toss and turn, I can't sleep at night". | |
| Mýa – Ghetto Superstar Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This song is totally ripped off Islands In The Stream by Dolly Parton. | |
| Nirvana – Lithium Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I know lots have people have mentioned the bipolar aspect of this song but I would also like to say that this song also means that to me. For me it perfectly describes what it's like living with bipolar disorder. I also take Lithium. A common theme for mania is that people get increasingly religious sometimes to the point of thinking they're Jesus or something. You also get really horny when you're manic, hence the line. The last bits with the "I like it, I'm not gonna crack" seem to describe what is called a mixed affective state which is when you are manic and depressed at the same time. You have manic energy and racing thoughts with a depressed mood or your mood changes back and forth between mania and depression really quickly, sometimes blurring into both happening at the same time. Anyway, this song has personal significance to me and even if that's not what Kurt intended, it is what I think the song is about and surely personal significance is more important then anything else. |

| Foo Fighters – Hey, Johnny Park! Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I too have always taken this to be about Kurt Cobain. "Come and I'll take you under this beautiful bruise's colors Everything fades in time it's true" This was explained by WildFlower594 "Wish that I had another stab at the undercover Was it a change in mind for you" He's wishing that he had a chance to go back in time a try and help him so that he wouldn't kill himself "It's impossible I can't let it out You'll never know am I selling you out?" He has a whole lot of pent up feelings about it and feels like he's selling him out by carrying on the similar style of music and being corporate etc "Sit and watch your every mood" Kurt was manic depressive and had lots of mood swings "Your eyes still remind me of angels that hover above Eyes that can change from blind to blue" One of the most striking features was his blue eyes "Now that I've found my reward, I'd throw it away long before I'd share a piece of mine with you" Pretty much self-explanatory - he'd give anything to have Kurt back. Now that he's gone all the way success-wise he realises that he'd throw it away to get him back. "Come and I'll take you under this beautiful bruise's colors Everything fades in time it's true" I don't think every Foo Fighters song is about Kurt but I do think this one is. It's like when people bitch that just because a musician did drugs that not every song is about drugs - it doesn't mean they're not about drugs either. He did have a life before Nirvana but the time that he was in Nirvana was a very significant time and Kurt was a very significant person in his life. Also, regarding the title, just because it says Johnny Park doesn't mean it isn't about him. He couldn't really call the song "Hey Kurt Cobain" now could he? Sorry this is so long. I'll shut up now. |

| Violent Femmes – Blister in the Sun Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I had never thought about this being about masturbation. I always assumed that it was about drugs. When I'm out walking I strut my stuff And I'm so strung out I'm high as a kite I just might stop to check you out -This verse is pretty self-explanatory if it has a drug theme. "I'm high as a kite" etc. "I just might/stop to check you out", he's unpredictable and/or impulsive. He's feeling euphoric. Let me go on like I Blister in the sun Let me go on Big hands, I know you're the one - Being "in the sun" is a common euphemism for being on drugs (at least I think it is). "blistering" is a clever metaphor for the effects he's feeling while on drugs and he wants to continue feeling like that, hence "let me go on". I have no idea what the big hands line means. Body and beats I stain my sheets I don't even know why My girlfriend She's at the end She is starting to cry - The staining sheets part I thought was like in Trainspotting where you're so high/drunk that you piss/shit in your bed. The girlfriend is coming down off the high, is "at the end". When you're coming down of some drugs you feel teary. Anyway, that's just what I assumed the song was about before I read this. But the masturbation and the 'big hands' thing is plausible too. |

| The White Stripes – Hypnotize Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| He didn't steal the melody. It's a common formula to use when constructing melodies. Like a twelve bar blues is. Anyway, all music is stolen from somewhere | |
| Nirvana – Aneurysm Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| If you watch Kurt singing the line you can clearly see that he is singing "she keeps it pumping straight to my heart" | |
| Nirvana – Lithium Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
Crimson Hatred: You came up with a good meaning but I'd just like to say that lithium, at least not where I live, is not just for people who tend to be voilent. When I am manic I am not violent at all yet I took lithium and this is the same for a lot of bipolar people I know. Not wanting to put down anything you said, just clearing up a point. PS Lithium sucks doesn't it? Sodium Valproate is much better. |

| Nirvana – Oh, Me Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| In the second verse this song reminds me of someone who is very bored with life and possibly depressed. I think it is the way that it is said, they just sound really bored how they say that no matter really what they do the results will always be the same and they will always be perfect so it's not as though they can try to improve on them or anything. I dunno, it reminds me of when I'm depressed. One of my favourite songs. It's fun to play too, especially the solo. | |
| Nirvana – You Know You're Right Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Raging Pyro: I've listened to the song again and have to say that I'm pretty sure that Kurt is just emphasising the last T of the line, not adding an S. It would make sense as it is the end of the song. You could be right but that's just what I think. | |
| Nirvana – Even in His Youth Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| I think it alternates between 'the same', 'a slave' and 'again' in the line after 'If I die before I wake" | |
| Nirvana – Even in His Youth Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
From what I can hear it says: "If I die before I wake Hope I don't come back the same". |
|
| Tenacious D – Tribute Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Factory81patriot, if you could read he said "As the only 16-year old male I know that isn't testosterone-driven". Notice he said "I know". He most likely does not know you. | |
| Seal – Kiss From A Rose Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| I also thought it was "grave". | |
| Pink – Just Like A Pill Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| What the hell does Pink think she's doing? This song has the worst lyrics I've ever heard in my life. She just keeps getting worse and worse. | |
| Nirvana – Where Did You Sleep Last Night (Lead Belly cover) Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| A driving wheel is a) a gear wheel that causes other wheels to rotate and b) Any wheel of a vehicle that transforms torque into a tractive force. | |
