I've never thought about the Cobain thing, I surposed Kurt DID wear a dress at least once, but why would Anthony fall in love with him? I surpose it may be a different kind of love, like the love he had (and still has) for Slovak. It fits the song either way. I saw it as him falling for a girl who meant everything to him, whether she knew it or not. He uses a lot of past tense which could mean she died, explaining the first two verses and the chorus I think the chorus is about drugs, I assume it's him, but it may not be, (I'll run with it though). He's trying to escape his heartache and sorrow, even though he knows it would be better if he stayed clean and dealt with his feelings. The song is written as if he's talking to her, confessing his love (without past tense) as if he's not ready to come to terms with his loss, or as if he's only just realised what this person meant to him On a completely hypocritical note, analysing songs like this voids the emotion and beauty that the band creates. It has to be whatever you make of it. So in a way, if you disagree with whatever comments you see under a song, you're getting more out of it than someone who comes here and accepts someone else's point of view (Dave Navarro sucks, heehee!) |
