nobody's commented on any remedy session songs? jeez..they are a frikin fantabulous band! anyway.
i guess this song is somebody who's looking into the past of a relationship that ended badly. and it hurts them to go back, and they know the relationship wasn't so great, but they still go back and live in the past because the relationship is probably from a point in their life when they were happy. and now they are unhappy, unable to sleep because of these terrible thoughts of how the past is never going to be like the future because they are lonely. it's a sad, sad song. -tear, tear- |

hmm, well, my complete cynically bitchy self would assume that this song means the person has a "significant other" (dorky side right there, man.) that says one thing - and does another thing. as in, the polar opposite of what the person says. and the person says that they are out of their element (ie, i don't want commitment.) and they want out. and the person assumes they will be theirs, even if it takes a small while - but no, that person dates somebody who supposedly doesn't need "commitment."
yeah.
or maybe it just seems that way to me because i'm in a situation EXACTLY like this! ha! ha! hah!

i adore this song. when i was cruely dumped (hah) i used to listen to it with coffee and cigarettes and cry my eyes out. koufax is a great band. they're coming august 8. wouldn't miss it for the world. |
