The Lyrics are what is so significant. "Catch me if you can, I've got to get away..." Especially, that chorus: "..And Beside my heart, there's a place for you..." "I'm lost in a crowd, trying to find my way..." all are so relatable to me. Wonderful song. |

For my graduation, my favorite teacher in the whole wide world, Mrs. Wakida (a 50-something white woman who is married to a Japanese man of almost 30 years) told us her story of not going to college immediately after high school. She went to France for vacation and then visited rural schools in Spain. Once in Spain, she never came back home until 2 years later. She told us that she had lived her life with no regrets. That once u do something, it's worth taking and she credits her new favorite song, I hope you dance, to us all. She recited lyrics from the 2nd verse and she told us, "If you all get the choice to sit it out or dance...I hope you dance....I hope you dance..."
