I think this song has a lot to do with how our culture rapes women mentally in that it tell them how to act. There is shit like cosmo and elle and seventeen all over the place telling them how to act, what to wear, where to go... most of the time to please men or to fit in. meanwhile, men, who are happy with the dominant role in society, like women "just the way they are." |

actually, I was thinking about this some more and I'm starting to see it more as a commentary about how you can't be both dependent on other people and happy at the same time. the only person you can count on when you are down is yourself, and that is who will ultimately pull you out before you sink. |

I don't know. I'm not really that big a fan of Appleseed Cast. It seems like they are trying to hard to be the next Sunny Day Real Estate, but it's already been done. Sometimes I think I would like all of their music more if they just chopped off two or three minutes of it. |

I think they are singing out being young in a country as relatively privelaged as America as opposed to countries that are worse off. |

I don't know, it kind of seems to me that there is a duality in youth's zeal. Many young people allow themselves to get carried away in their hatreds and desires to destroy what they do not understand. Thus, young people can be easily convinced that war is good. However, there are others that believe the path to social justice lies through peaceful means. For example, the (relatively) large amounts of socialist youth found in universities. |

I liked this song the first few times I heard it, but after that I started listening to it more closely.
It seems to me that this song is about some guy that is trying to force his girlfriend to have sex with him just because he feels that he deserves it for putting up with her. It pisses him off though, because she isn't as in to it as he is. In the end he's just another horny jerk.
Actually, now that I think about it, TBS seems to have some sort of obession with sex. I just don't think they have managed to grow up enough yet. |
