This song made me cry the first time I heard it on Dig, the documentary on the BJM and the Dandy Warhols. It just sums up my whole relationship with my own parents..it's like one of those songs I hear that is so perfect that I almost feel like I could have written it myself verbatum.

I think this song just says "I'm moving on now so fuck you" which is probably the healthiest sentiment to come from Todd Lewis considering the way he deals with this sort of thing in other songs. ("Quitter" and "Jigsaw Girl" for example...) |

Wow I didn't realise this song had so many lyrics...I mean the thing about Slint is that they are soo poetic but you have to listen really hard to hear what dude is saying. I think that he is such a talented singer (ie "Washer" the only song where he actually does sing) and I think his wonderful lyric writing would have stood out more if he had sung the songs instead of talking. |

This has to be one of the most perfect songs ever written. This song to me is about waking up on a sunshiny Saturday morning next to my lover,seeing how beautiful she is and realising that today everything is perfect but not really believing that it could be so. |

Best Dandies song ever I think. But like alot of Dandy Warhols songs that sound happy and upbeat on the surface this song seems to have sort of a hidden meaning and I don't really think it's about sex. I'm thinking drug addiction because of lyrics like "like it or not/like a ball and a chain/but all I wanna do is get off" and all the references to forgetting one's self. |

Well I'm from Portland Oregon where this band is from and I think The Dandy Warhols and this song in particular represent this town far better than some other bands that have made it big out of this town (Everclear please take note) Whenever I hear this song I always think of NW 21st and 23rd which are like the sort of rich bohemian neighborhoods here and all the coffee shops where the rich kids go to meet other rich kids...oh god I'm babbling I'm gonna shut up now |

This song is probably the Dandies song I relate most to I think. He's talking about sitting in his room being lonly and in need of companionship but not really having the energy to go out and make friends. He justifies his laziness by thinking that perhaps he is the only friend he could possibly want. When I first heard this song I thought it said "Heroin my only only only friend that I ever want" which [obviously] is not something I can relate to but I was relieved to find out I was wrong. |
