It's about being strong and even when you're down, you won't let the people who've hurt you know it. Great song... |

Aside from the issue of 'selling out' ... Actually about the song? It's great. My one friend told me that it reminds him of me ... the part about being someone you're not ... and I truely respect that. NFG doesn't just stick to strictly emo-type issues. This song is about how you feel about yourself ... tired of smiling when you're dieing inside ... and I think that's why I fell in love with it. [[ Just my humble opinion ]] I can completely relate to what they are talking about. |

Wow. So true, so true. How amazing is this song? It litterally gives me chills. When the song ends and the CD is in between the end of "Hold" and beginning "Take Our Cars Now" [The pause of silence] it really gives me a moment to reflect on love. I don't know of any other bands that can provide me such a feeling... Amazing ... that's the only word for it. |

Does anyone else think the whole 'taking pictures' scenerio is refering to Chris before and after the accident? Like the photo was taken to capture him before the scars and he'll always remember the way he felt before them? Maybe it's that he is still the same person before and after the accident, even though his appearance has changed and he wants people to realize that?
--Oh i don't know... just my thoughts. I am trying to peice this song together. I'm probably completely misinterpreting it. |

In my opinion this song is refering to 'thee crash'. I almost hate listening to it and smiling because it was written about something so unfortunate, but like TaKeOuRcArSnOw and backupdork say ... its so amazing how this song acutally gives off a happy feeling. I truly respect and admire Chris for everything and this line alone ...

The whole "I'm Sorry I'm Leaving" CD is pure genius no matter what other people say! It's raw and real and uncut. Chris' voice has such boyish charm ;) Don't we all want a Chris for our own .. I do at least. What's great about this song is it combines funny elements with completely serious and sweet ones. "Roll on top of me baby yeah just R0LL roll R0LL" and "kiss behind your ears" are my favorite lines. What passion! What fire. Ahh, STD never fails to make me smile with their lyrics. |

For some reason I am emotionally attatched to "Freakish". From the start it was my favorites on Stay What You Are and I'm not sure why. I think we all can relate to what Chris is saying "Your eyelids close when you're around me to shut me out." *sniff sniff* One thing that does taint my image of this song is that it was on MTV .. how bittersweet. I want STD to have all the success they deserve, but I am torn because I want them to stay semi-underground for us special fans... Ah well. |
