The best part of this song is the beginning. It starts by playing the audio to the video clip that you see on the movie Event Horizon. You see people being chopped in pieces and being horribly mutilated by themselves. The captain of the ship is holding his eyes in his hands and says the words "Liberate te ex infirnis." You can hear these words in the song track too. It is an awesome song, but it is not as good as the intro piece in my opinion. As for the title, I don't think they are even people we know. The piece just before this one is on Kathleen Barbra who doesn't seem to have a record at all. Both are placed in Circle V though, which is the wrathful. Curious. |

Sure, whatever Balkazar. This song is about naval warfare for two reasons. Number one, the lyrics say so themselves. "Reise, reise" does mean arise, arise and is used in the German military as a wakeup call I am told. The second reason is even better. If you hold down the rewind/skip button on the cd player, you hear 37 seconds of the song you never hear otherwise. It sounds like alarms and people hollering, followed by an explosion which also testifies to it being military related. Seriously, hold down the skip button and hear for yourself. |

To an extent, I believe that you are right, Skeezix. But now, this whole song looks different to me. God has made his exit and man tries to take his place. As earth's new rulers, we decide to destroy and rebiuld based on our own minds of how things should be. More death, destruction, decay results (what a surprise) and we attain the fullness of man, 666. Not perfect but closer than ever before in relation to our own greatness. Personally, this song makes me agree with Puck. "Oh what fools these mortals be." |

The music is truly awesome in this one. As for the meaning, I'm not sure but I think that this song signifies the angels departure from us and rebuking therein. Apparently, in that we have (according to the story of the album) turned totally from God, even the angels now depart. As I said, I'm not sure, but what a song eh? |

I agree with mofn_nine. Here is where God begins His departure. War and strife overcome the whole earth. When men cry to the heavens, their screams are as a flame burning to reach the sky, continually getting higher but never reaching its target. Also, we see that there is no more salvation or sacrifice from Christ. "No miracles, no bleeding hands." This truly defines a time when life and death are equally terrible and thus are one. It doesn't get any worse than this and truly is a think "to dark to think about." |

I hate to say it, but none of you guys are exactly right. I'm not trying to be arrogant, but the actual basis of this album was to write about a time when God becomes so tired of being shut out by men, He leaves, He dies, He goes to sleep forever. Essentially, God cuts Himself off from men. And here we have the final and most truthful song of them all. The hopelessness. We have people who return again to seek God but don't find Him. They seek a sign, but instead are greeted by death. And in death, they do not find the rewards that once were held when God was with them, instead they find something else. And though God is their everything, it is to late and their souls grow cold. Though God would never abandon us like this, it is a scary thing to try and comprehend. This is the basis of the whole album. |
