did anyone know what the zoot suit riots were about? probably not, so ill tell you. during world war II, there was lots of dicrimination based on race. Hispanics who lived in southern cali who wore suits called "zoot suits" much like the hip harlem people. they had greased hair combed back into a ducktail and long waisted suit coats with baggy pants pegged at the ankles. youknwo what im talking about right? so then LA passed a law making it a crime to wear these outfits. people still wore them as a so called sign of rebellion. then some sailors from the local navy base invaded a hispanic neighborhood because allegedly they had attcked some servicemen. these sailors beat the zoot suiters up, tore their clothes and cut their hair. then when the hispanics fought back, they got arrested and all the newspapers lied about what happened.
so thats what the song is about. and i guess its like a funny get back because theyre saying that all the while they were screwing the sailors wives hehehe so there sailor suckers!!!! |

ok i havent heard this song yet, but the lyrics are good. its kinda cool when people use symbolism in their songs, its better than hearing the same old shit about cheating girlfreinds and stuff. i hate that. anyway i just wanted to say that it doesnt matter what you label the music, because music is music! if you wanna call it emo then by god call it that. i actually think that everything with a band is rock , you know with instruments, and then there are different types of sub genres under the rock catergory. for instance, theres rock/rap like outkast and also theres hair bands like poison, and then again theres emotional rock like slower music like dashboard confessional, then you have hardcore rock liek slipknot... and well i coudl go on forever.. point being is theres many types of rock out there and it all depends on your mood or what you like to listen to. all songs have emotion in them so technically everything could be considered emo, i mean what would a song be without emotion? the only song that i can think of is called clever trevor by ian dury. now that is an emotionless song. try finding another one. youll hurt your brain.. seriously. all rock rules. ~e |

at the last part when he says "just one last time can i call you my sweetheart" then asks why all good things come ot an end it coudl be like asking for one more chance, then they do "the dirty" (he he) and then the "good things" (the sex with the girl he loves) comes to an end. like he finally realized that it was over. oh well this is a good song but he doesnt seem like he was really unhappy in his relationship liek she just kinda up and left with no apparent reason (liek he says "where are you") and he just doesnt know why, but its pretty sad that she just left him liek that, and all he could think of is the good times and couldnt figure out why it happened this way. |

whats wrong with a good band being on the radio or tv? its more money for them and they are still doing it for the music because thats what its about and if people liek them then thats great but people shouldnt talk crap about them because theyre becoming "sellouts" or whatever, then thats crazy. i dont think tom wants all the teeny bopper girls to be swooning over them thats why they did the more emothional side and went a little deeper than the catchy tunes of blink 182. also i thought that this site was supposed to have the meanings of songs.. and i was wondering is it really about him and travis leaving blink? i kinda wondered because i really like this song and heres what i think it means...
ok it could be about him and travis doing the side project but has anyone thought that maybe it could be about a one night stand? liek "i feel so lost" and he could be mad that a girl treated him liek that. and the second 4 lines where he says i wish i was young, well this kind of thing wouldnt happen if you were yound and you wouldnt put yourself in this position. also "i wish i was you not i" could mean that hed feel better if he got to dis the girl instead of him getting left alone. where he says i feel so CHEAP, USED and unfaitful could be how you feel after a one night stand. i dunno i guess thats just what i thought. post something up here if you agree that it could mean that. ~e |

ok i really like this song and shes not famous becuase her dad is, she wasnt supposed to sing the song in the first place. whoever said that starting out for a first song with a cover is unoriginal, well i dont think at the time she intended to make more songs, but since so many people liked this one and saw the talent in her voice, i guess she decided that maybe she could record her own stuff. if im not mistaken she only covered this song for the soundtrack to the show. i saw her when i was at HFStival and she was really cool. also i read an article in cosmoGirl about her and it was like "inside" the real kelly. you guys dont know her so its not really fair to talk about her. the song was great when madonna did it, and its pretty good in this version. kelly has a good sound its kinda like all my favorite genres mixed together. and if anyone couldnt tell, sven was being sarcastic, and i think shes hilarious. kelly is so cool she respects madonna and knows that madonnas song was great, im sure if you asked her she would tell you that she knows shes not as good as madonna, and you know what else? kelly lieks britney spears. ick thats the only thing that i dont like about kelly. ~e |
