i noticed something weird with this song (unless i'm wrong because he meant to say it) there is one line that he says like this
"Distorted figures walk the streets 1999"
the lyrics on here and in the cd say 1989...anyway kick ass song! |

this song makes me think of this friendship I have with a guy,we're extremely close but we avoid the "relationship talk". so in a way we "play around it". sorry if this makes no sense. |

a little tidbit for all of you: someone once told me this album was originally out in the UK in the early 60s but wasn't released to the US till 1973 because it was way ahead of it's time... I'm not sure how true it is,but Floyd was always before it's time, and that's why me and my family are such big fans of them. |

hmm, to me this song means death....especially the part "you can check out anytime you want, but you can never leave". My uncle who died in 1987 loved this song and it reminded me of him andit reminds me of my fiance's death a few months ago |

i dont care about the meaning, the song rocks and it always will...but to me the "3 men that i admire most, the father, son and the holy ghost" means buddy holly, the big bopper and richie valens..."they caught the last train for the coast" =death |

This song is actually a faster version of "Four Horseman" by Metallica. I heard about that on a radio show once. Very good tune |

Great song, although a friend of mine once told me the song was written about his illness (for those of you dont know, he died of AIDS in 1991) but the song was written way before he even knew about the disease. Just wanted to clarify |
