I think the song is absolutely awesome. I think it's about how a person, any person at that, can have so much power. The point of that is expressed through the song with a growing or building-on of facts that are stated. Children when they are young ride bikes around, and some eventually learn to ride without hands. The other lines are all things that children can accomplish. Teenagers are older, some (like myself) have taken apart telephones. You make good times with your close friends in high school and on into college. The line about seeing on the telephone Is that age when you've got your new cellphone as a teenager and how it socially connects you to everyone. The next part is when you flip to the middle aged person, reading books, investing in companies and even maybe starting new businesses. Obviously the song is using age and growth to show how ultimately in the end anyone can grow up to have so much control over everything. It shows the extreme power that a single person can harness if they want to. Ultimately the writer can see this power and is informing that if they so choose, they can do this. And at the end, its all topped off perfectly with the little dinky riding bikes with no hands. Great song and really makes you really think. |

I think this song is great. I suggest to get a full effect, listen to Handlebars first, then this one. I agree with the people above. Its a song about how the people are taking charge and really using the power we all have to accomplish. In the first bit, each line is, in a way, a stereotypical oxymoron. Common conception is that gangs are bad, yet they meet to plan after school programs. I think that's the best one of them. I think the black hawks going to the survivors is another oxymoron thing in that the government may not typically spend the money to send the aircraft there. Incidentally the wind blows them there to help following the oxymorons presented earlier. Another line I love is the roses from the lots and sidewalk cracks. Just the music its self right there is great. And finally the line about "If you are thinking you are winning"; just great. The best part of it all is that the first time you hear it, you probably won't recognize or even pick up the line, but after you really listen to what she's saying, it all makes sense after a few times and by that point you really are winning cause you're thinking. Great song for sure. |

i like this song, a lot. but i had to laugh, cuz the first thing i though about when i sang it to myself, was relating it to eating sumthin good, then going to the bathroom. "I could feel it go down You left the sweetest taste in my mouth" - can feel the food goin down, tasted so good. "Oh and I... I wish that I could work it out" - after eating it, you really had to go.... but then you get to the rest of the song, and you find out thats not what its about! great song though! |

| I think this song is about someone who likes another person very much. They were going great, and then all of the sudden, one of them goes away, or something of the sort, where they are broke up. The singer is saying how sad he is that they are apart, and that he would sell his soul just to be back together. He also explains that she can't understand how he feels about her. My favorite lines are "I’d burn our initials in the sun if it would shine" and "I’m bleeding by myself and I’m okay..." The first line, because its so symbolic of what love may be, it just strikes me. The second line I love because, the guy is so hurt, he's bleeding. He wants it to be over, and tells himself that he is ok, but deep down, he's not, and still is holding on. I can relate to this song 100% at this time in my life, reminds me a certain A.N.H.
