^^ ahahahah! that's so cool! :D Well, Alien Sex Fiend is a band so...it's either a totally random, crazy song, or perhaps a head-nod at that band, but either way it's all cracked out. Which is why we love it, hehehe |

insectkin- that's a goo point, and an interesting view! I'd never thought of it like that.
I know she's written about prostitution because I bought the little booklet thing that has a cd of them tlaking for about an hour and they bring it up, but it doesn't say specifically which song (mind you it came out before version 2.0 I believe) and of any of the songs on "Garbage" this one would make the most sense:
"I know what's good for you (You can touch me if you want)
I know you're dying to (You can touch me if you want)
I know what's good for you (You can touch me if you want)
But you can't stop "
and BTW, she's wearing some pretty massive makeup in that video, and the whole thing is her bringing someone back to her house and then jumping his bones/ripping off his clothes. |

thanks, kira midnight. that's exactly what I was going to say. *sigh* doesn't it suck when you hear such an immensely sad song like this and just know that it's your life in music? Yay for Trent and his ability to make songs that reflect EXACTLY how he feels, and in effect, reflecting how all us screwed up little bastards feel too. |

That would make PERFECT sense, and I totally admire you for bringing up that point, but Martin Gore was the main songwriter, especially with the lyrics, and he wasn't into the drugs. But had Dave Gahan written it, and he could've, I haven't checked, then yeah, totally. |

ahahaha! variant, you rock my socks :) I think the frame is life. I mean, it totally could be the relationship's foundation, but I think it's the frame of his reality. When everything falls apart around you, will that person help you through, ya know? |

I think, what happened, was a really sad girl met a boy, and the boy helped her grow and become more happy. At the end of the relationship, though they were parting ways, she was a happier person. Also the lyrics "she was a teenage girl when she met me" also give a hint of growth, as in she's not a teenager anymore, and she doesn't have that mentality. |

It's not about her. If you've seen any interviews about it, she said openly that it wasn't about anyone in particular, especially herself. |

thank God someone got it right. Thanks Jerry. Yeah, the song is about prostitution and oddness. I mean, just look at the lyrics: "the queerest of the queer/the strangest of the strange" and if anyone's seen the video, you'll know that Shirley Manson totally looks like a hooker in it. Good stuff :) |
