Personally, Crash is my favorite Dave Matthews Band album, and this song was the first DMB song I learned to play on the guitar. Not only is the tune itself amazing, but the poetic lyrics create a storylike journey about love, purity, and innocence. Dave Matthews is a genius, and every song on Crash reflects this theme of wonder, dreams, and living. I also think with the release of Everyday, DMB has not lessened themselves into a "lower genre" or "sold out" (whatever that means) - but have experimented further into the world of music, testing new boundaries, and creating an entirely new world of DMB. Quite simply, this song, this band, their work - amazing. |

I heard that Dave wrote this song about alcoholism, and also when he realized that DMB was getting to be something huge. |

I heard in an interview with Tom that the song was about a suicidal man jumping off a building and a guy (Mark's vocals) watching. He said this was NOT about the 9/11 incident. |
