Theres only one part that doesnt really make sense to me...
A world full of killing
And blood spilling
That world never came
How does he figure that world never came? We are living in that world right now.
other than that I love this song. Also, I never listen to the radio, because if I did I would be just as pissed off about all the songs I used to like as Jona up there. Radio stations tend to overplay the good shit. Damn them. |

Roger Wilco:
I will not have a boss who doesn't care, because I am going to be self employed.
I will not have drugs for my wife to steal, because I will not need them in the first place.
I will not get evicted, because I wont be spending my rent money on drugs.
This REAL WORLD you preach is nothing but a sob story of your own failed future.
Stop taking it out on us. |

I thought it said "For here am I sitting in a tin can" not "For years am I sitting in a tin can"...
But I could be wrong.
Anyway, this song creeps me out. I love it. |

Might be a reference to some cartoons, mainly the older Luney Tunes, where a character gets sent into the sky strapped to a rocket loaded with dynamite, and when he explodes it looks like fireworks.
Just a thought. |

This is a great song. I just wish he hadnt specified the eye color of the girl in that one line. I know its his song, and its meaningful, but it makes it tough for me to relate to when i hear blue eyes and the girl im thinking of has brown eyes. |

the words "you dont know what pain is" toward the end of the sing are taken from a sound clip from the movie Silence of the Lambs. you can even hear the guys dog in the background. |

i love this song, but i have to admit that i have the radio edit on my computer instead of the original. i understand the rage behind that part at the end, and i dont mind hearing it once in a while, but sometimes i just want to listen to it without that at the end. dont kill me. |

dont say this like that, player1916. thats exactly what they want you to think. you know a hell of a lot more than they think you do, and you have a right to an opinion. |

Does anyone know what the words are that play in the background of the song? I would really like to know. |

| Nine Inch Nails – The Perfect Drug Lyrics

This song is a perfect representation of multiple personality disorder. The singer is basically losing it, his head is unraveling, he cant keep control. His perfect drug is the new personality he has created to help deal with his problems. The more he gives to the new side, the more his old self dies. Everything about the new identity is better, stronger, more capable, but deep inside he knows that there is very little left of his original persona. Thus in the end the new, darker side of his mind becomes dominant, because the weaker personality has realized that without him everything falls apart.
Anyone who has read or seen Fight Club will know exactly what I mean. |

Great call on the vampire idea. I always assumed the song was about some sort of rape, or at least the singer trying to convince a girl to give herself to him.
But I would much rather think about the vampire thing. It is so much cooler, and the words fit perfectly. Thanks for pointing that out! |
