| This is just... a beautiful song. Free has one of the best voices I've heard, and I wish she'd get a lil more recognition than I'm currently seeing here. I know out of the nearly 40 thousand members and god knows how many unregistered viewers, there's more than a handful of Kidneythieves fans. I almost wanna cry seeing the tiny handful of people who've posted or viewed any of these songs... I mean c'mon, I know there's more than just a few hundred Kidneythieves fans... or they surely wouldn't have gotten KMFDM to tour with them. that's for sure. | |

One fateful night, I so happened to notice this song was on the top 100... which was surprising, seeing as it had nearly triple the next highest number of views of any Bright Eyes song. Well, it was a pleasant surprise, and I was amused to see a local band (to me anyhow) gain such recognition. And so, days passed, and I randomly checked this page again, to notice a startling number of posts suddenly accumulated... well, after sifting through them all... I figured I'd jump in the fray, though god knows it doesn't need another idiot spouting his opinions. Reguardless, here I am... First of all... everyone has a right to their own opinion, unless that's been changed when I wasn't paying attention, and I respect that. And, since the two go together, everyone has the right to consequently disagree with everyone else's opinion. And that right is usually excersised quite a bit, which is great. But why do people actually make the effort to go to the page of lyrics which they *don't even like*, just to post "OMFG THIS SONG SUX U ALL R LOSERS!!!!" and the like? Or in some cases, more intelligent points are made, but still, what are you trying to accomplish? It's a given that the vast majority of people to visit a page of lyrics are a) People who already like the band and/or song, or b) other people posting "d00d this song iz lame yo", who already dislike the song/band. You're not gonna change the opinions of the former, the latter already agree with you, and those few who've never heard it will (or at least should) give it a listen for themselves, and be the judge of whether they like it or not. Granted, some like to be told what to think, but most of us don't need it... Secondly, if you do disagree with someone, generally the most effective thing you can do is simply pay it no mind. Everyone has their own opinion, and replying to a flame of a song with an equally moronic flame doesn't do much to prove your intelligence. Arguements rarely change opinions, and only serve to spark further conflicts. So... all in all, everyone should just let everyone else have their opinions, and let this extensively long thread die (myself included). Sometimes debates can be fun, but when a good half of the debatees have the intelligence of a moldy rock... As for my opinion, I like Bright Eyes. I think Conor makes good music. How valid is my opinion in anyone else's eyes? Prolly not very... but hey, such is life. I'll live with the horrid disappointment that *gasp* some people won't agree... heh. Now, my excessively long-winded rant has come to an end, and hopefully my ramblings and re-iterations of other people's points will get through to someone. -Me |
