It has nothing to do with drungs! james Hetfeild (lead singer and rythm guitarist) became very interested in Hot Rods. And this song has a lot to do with him (In fact, I think Kirk Hammet, the guitarist, wrote this for him.) |

Look, Man...The guy is dead and up at the Perly Gates and he's explaining what happened in his life and all that stuff. The door opens if he is true, and he's free to go in heaven, but the door cracks open and there's no sun shinning through. The sun indicates the light from heaven. Therefore, since he sees no light, he is not going to heaven and he is unforgiven. The whole thing is a conversation with him and St. Peter at the Perly Gates. AND THE REST OF YOU ARE WRONG! |
