this song means everything! Everything that I've been trying to say. the first time I heard it I cried and played it over for hours. India is so open about what she wants, but at thesame time she is saying that not only does she know what she wants and THAT she wants someone, but that she is ready for all of the hard times and troubles that come along with the wonderful feeling of being really loved. She's saying that she doesn't want something simple, but something real and true- and that she's now strong enough to take whatever that love will give her. Just listening to this song makes me hope that she will find someone and be happy soon, because I can tell in her voice that she really is ready and she deserves someone to make her happy! Now, for me..:)

I agree with u, gottalovethehits.. when Rob sings "...I was listening to radio and wondering what you're dreaming when it came to mind that I didn't care" he's saying that the girl had herself so fooled and blnded that she had realy believed hat she loved him too, but when she really thought about it, she found her lies- she didn't want him and she couldn't take it anymore. The guys are so great at writing songs that really touch people and that you can really relate to, and in this song, Rob just sounds so raw and real and his emotions are laid out for everyone to hear. This song can make me cry for him and make me wonder about the girl's side. Isn't it better that she let him go without lying to him anymore about her feelings? I can emathize with her, but overall, it's an incredible song about rejection that is performed in a way that could move anyone. The strings surely help there! *~* ...but that's just me..*~* |

I've always thought that this song reflected the ultimate insecurity and lack of self confidence that causes someone to just try and escape themselves and be someone else. However, I see the final line as saying that when you try to be someone else, you'll never fit in where you did before. It also makes it seem like once you change yourself, i's permanent and nomatter how hard you try you won't be able to go back to who you were before, whether you would like to or not. |

The best part of this song is that ot only is it positive, but it is REAL, just like Dave and all the rest of the guys (Carter, Stefan, oyd, LeRoi, y gotta love 'em all) are real. This song has been part of what has made me have a great summer, because everywhere I go I think to myself "Turns out not where but who you're with that really matter." Little could be more true! I have fun at work all the time, because, like this song suggests, I realize that the people that you are around man more than anything else. Alot of hard things have been going on in my life since last summer, but I turn to thi song a lot, because "we can pull on through whatever tears at us...". This song is very deliberate and outward in meaning, different from many other DMB songs- so mostly, all yu can say is that it rocks! |
