this band is Taking Back Sunday lite. don't get me wrong...the song is catchy as hell, but from the dual emo/metal vocals to the oblique song title that doesn't appear in the chorus, this band is doing nothing new. however, a lack in originality doesn't necessarily make for a bad song. just be sure to realize that there were others before Hawthorne Heights. |

The Grammy performance of London Calling was a great tribute to the memory of Joe Strummer. The variety of musical styles represented on that stage just go to show how far the influence of the Clash reached. And don't forget they did it all in FIVE YEARS! Incredible... |

A lot of these angry "No Doubt sux" comments are coming from younger people, I'm sure. What you must realize is that bands change, except AC/DC. Anyway, when a band feels they've outgrown a certain genre (like No Doubt with ska) they begin to look to other types of music for inspiration. Gwen is moving into her 30s, do you think she still wants to write songs like "Just a Girl"? The band didn't sell out, either. They changed their style of music (and they've always been good performers) and MTV happened to notice. Therefore, they picked it up and ran with it. And if you listen to the rhythm section and guitar work in this song, you'll realize No Doubt is still a good, but different, band. There will always be ska bands, but some ska bands will branch out and create different music. It's a fact...live with it. |

ROCKLOB has the right definition of Blitzkrieg. In this case the "Biltzkrieg Bop" is a reaction (dancing) to a hard, fast type of music that takes you over in a surprise attack.
It's all about the punk music (new back then) that the Ramones busted out with. |
