This song means crap to me. It's self-conceited. The video is stereotypical. Avril has no talent what so ever. She can't sing. She doesn't play guitar. She didn't write her own music. The only thing she can be good as is a POSER. These lyrics are so selfish. Prep girl likes skater boy. Skater boy likes prep girl. Prep girl gets peer-pressured by other friends. Years later, prep girl has a kid. Skater boy is "rocking up MTV" (Avril sucks up to MTV too much. MTV isn't ROCK. It's pure shit. Lam3rs). Skater boy meets Avril. They fall in love. Avril laughs at prep girl. And don't even get me started on the video. I'm going to her concert and then I'm going to beat her punk ("OMG SHE IS LK SOOOO PXNK RAWK!!!!!111 shee'z muh new lk......... | Pink's been from pure R&B to rock. It's kinda funny. I don't think she's a wannabe. I think she can be a head banger and at the same time, wear a mint coat. I personally love this song cause I've been through something like it. I mean, haven't you ever been with someone that you love and at the same time hate so much? And she's comparing it to drugs which is the perfect comparison to a relationship like that. The video's kinda weird, though. But if you listen to it, it's not as bad as you think. I think people just hate her 'cause she was one of the first white female R&B artists. But I like some of her songs and hate others. This one, I like. And I thought I was the only one who saw Pink get hit in the head, lol. And that whole "I swear" thing...? It's just two words. Everyone says it. I like this song a lot because it talks about life (not something you hear so much anymore) and that it brings you back to school. It doesn't diss school but it reminds you of the good things of it, like friends, and special moments. Very touching if you play it in a graduation. :) And about that whole mainstream thing, I agree with ya'. I was a huge Dido fan before she was on MTV and stuff. I bought her CD when her song was on the Roswell show. I never even knew she was on that Eminem song... But when I heard she was on the radio and she started catching fame, I got pissed off because all these "fake" fans started popping out of no where. But then, I became one of those "fake" fans. It's hard for some people to find underground music. Pretty sad that we can't. |

| This girl better spark the next generation of present-day jazz. She's amazing, beautiful voice, beautiful music, lovely touch with the piano, and she's actually herself. She's not overdoing herself. She's not throwing any ideas of who she is. She's just, (like Miko said), walking around the beach (which is beautiful) and just being at peace with yourself. She's wearing jeans, a cute shirt, but nothing that exposing, and hell, she's wearing FLIP FLOPS when she was playing the piano! It's like Vanessa Carlton meets soft jazz. I also like her other songs on her album. One of my favorites is Shoot The Moon. :) I haven't seen her on MTV yet. When she does get on MTV, half the world's gonna know of her and she deserves to be. :) | |

When I first heard this song, I thought, "Wow, this song is awesome!" I honestly loved it. I love all music, but not the people. For example, I admit, I like that Lucky song by Britney Spears but God knows I hate her slutty guts. And I'm sitting here right now, saying that Complicated is a song worth to hear, worth to sing to, but when I saw the video, it made me think, "... WTF is this shit?" She looks really cute, too, don't get me wrong. Maybe that's why she can't be so bad ass. "Wutchu wanna do today, boys?" Boys: *shrug* "Dude! Let's crash da mall!" "Dude! Let's crash da mall!" was the line that made me want to smack her. Another thing that I don't like is at the end of the video, she's staring into the camera, bats her eyes, and pouts. That just threw off that bad ass image. She's not trying to be punk, nope. She's trying to say to the world, "Look! I can be bad too!" Anyone can be bad like that. I mean, who wouldn't wanna drive in a lil toy car, smashing into shoe boxes? I wouldn't mind doing that but I can't do that without getting my ass chased by real security guards. That's the thing. In the video, she's running around, knocking over stuff, playing on things for free, and not get kicked out. It's too fake. The only part I liked that actually displayed herself was when she put on deodarent in public and that prep girl's all, "Ew." But I know people who do that in class and it's not so "Ew." I mean, at least she wears deodarent. Is she a REAL skater? The only thing I saw her doing in that video that involved skating was when she rolled up that ramp. I'm not labeling her as a punk-poser. I'm labeling her as a bad-ass poser. I still love the song. Just can't handle the video. There's my two cents! |
