I agree with this wholeheartedly. Did you also notice how they pass two soldiers walking back the other way? As though our two protagonists are still searching, still seeking an answer and a reason for and here are two soldiers, who have seen all this before, they've gone the distance and now their coming back? |

| Linkin Park – In Between Lyrics | 17 years ago |

This song, to me is most certainly an apology. Our speaker has been caught in a lie and he's trying to apologize for it. Now if we want to talk about context, what are we apologizing for, the song is sufficiently open that it could be, just about anything. But, looking at context. This album, at least the later half of it, is VERY politically minded, and, in my Canadian standpoint, very anti-Bush. No More Sorrow, two songs before this one, is very much someone calling someone else on their lies. Two songs after, Little Things Give you Away, is very much calling out the bush admin about the horrendous treatment of hurricane katrina. So when you come back to this song, it becomes what a lot of people wish they could hear, an apology from the government. |

| Linkin Park – Leave Out All the Rest Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I love this new album. So many songs with such a variety of sound. Its nice to know Linkin Park is this versatile and this good. But I have to strongly disagree with a lot of the posters here, this isn't a goodbye song. Not really. Lemme explain. "I dreamed I was missing /You were so scared / but no one would listen / cause no one else cared." First line sets the scene. Our protagonist (The I in the story), has had a nightmare, he's gone from everyones life and this one other person is freaking because he's vanished but nobody else really gives a shit. 'After my dreaming / I woke with this fear / what am I leaving / when I'm done here?' He's woken up in that cold sweat that follows this kind of life shattering nightmare and he's asking himself, if I left the world tomorrow, would anybody really notice? He looks at his lovely lady next to him and says: 'When my time comes, forget the wrong that i've done. (and in the meantime) Help me leave behind some / reasons to be missed / Don't resent me / and when your feeling empty / keep me in your memory / Leave out all the rest" The chorus is basically a plead on the behalf of the protagonist for people to not forget him, he's asking for help so that he has some sort of legacy left behind that people will remember him for and not just be another name lost to history. This song is a cry to not be forgotten. Not a goodbye. |

| The Offspring – No Brakes Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Actually, he's not talking about not having a break as in a rest, he is talking about not having car breaks, but not literally. He's saying "I've gotta go faster, but you know I've got no brakes." He can't stop. It's about being out of control. | |

since its from the Halo 2 soundtrack its a fairly easy analogy to connect this to the partnership formed between the Master Cheif and the Arbiter. It could also be Master Chief and Cortana since the two of them help each other out more often than the Cheif and the Arbiter do. On a more general note, it's about a relationship, being there for each other. Take it further than that as needed by you but in simplest terms, it's about being there for someone who is very close to you. |

The line "make it home again" is a request to the little girl, a plead if you will. She's terminally ill with cancer, and in the hospital. If things get better she'll get to go home, if not she'll die in the hospital. "And we can't go home because this will not go away" Its a direct reference to her having to be in the hospital. The cancer wont go away, so she can't go home. "Make it home again..." My grandmother had lung cancer, she'd have stints in the hospital and she'd get better for a little then get to come home again. This is Raine pleading with the little girl to make it home again and pull through this. |

| Christian Kane – LA Song Lyrics | 20 years ago |

This is pretty good, written by David Greenwalt and performed by Christian Kane in season 2 of Angel. The song itself is about being disconnected from life and just a feeling of utter despair. But! In context of the show, this song is a premonition and EVERYBODY misses it. Not to spoil anything but listen to this song then watch season four of Angel, it'll all make sense. |

| Our Lady Peace – Thief Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Spot on gentlemen. First I heard this I thought it was a brain tumour case. Spot on. Anyway about the video, I don't think there's too much to think about. Thier sitting outside in a concrete "garden" so to speak in the rain and none look all that happy. So what could we infer from this? Simply that the little girl didn't make it (ala the opening text) and the boys are outside the hospital down in the dumps and the rain signifies the tears of heaven cried over the loss of an innocent child. But then again I could be wrong since I'm just a sentimental old fart. | |
