i saw something corporate when thet played at UC Irvine and Andrew said something like he wrote this song about a girl he once went to a concert with... and then he said "i don't know why i just told you that" but yeah...

well you don't have to believe me but i know it is the ruth. i don't know Randy anymore but i did know him when we were freshmen in high school. we were both in the platinum sound marching band together at chaparral high school in temecula, ca. he played trombone and i played clarinet. do some research and you'll find out that it's true, you asshole! everyone has to come from somewhere.

this song is great. i love the way the lyrics are so depressing and hopeless and the music is so contrasting. sometimes when i feel this way i listen to this song and it makes me feel energized and like its time for me to wake up

A couple nights ago i had this incredibly vivid dream. it was really sad and i remember i was getting frustrated in my dream cause i was at this restaurant where everybody was watching a trial like the david westerfield trial and they were just so consumed in it and gossiping about the evidence and i was upset that they were missing the whole tragedy of the situation and were desensitized to things in the world. then, all of a sudden i looked across this aisle and john lennon was sitting there legs crossed playing guitar and singing imagine. our eyes met and we started to sway together. eveyone else in the restaurant also started swaying except in alternate direction. our eye contact kept getting interupted by the head of some woman but we stayed constant and always met right back up. i felt that he understood that i was the only one in the room that truly felt the message. i was another one of the dreamers. i don't know if you guys really care about my dream but i woke up and felt so amazing about it, i felt like it was real, so i decided to share.

WOW! i looked finch up in here and didn't expect them to even be listed, this is crazy! these guys are really great. i went to high school with randy and finch used to play at luch time in my high school and we would complain about how they were so loud and we couldn't hear friends talking, now i feel like an ass. we never expected them to get so good and popular i'm impressed and all their fans rock, just like them!!!

i have a feeling this song is under-rated. i appreciate it though. i appreciate the way that it captures the feelings i felt after my long term boyfriend broke up with me. our relationship had become everything to me, i "loved [him] more than everything" and blah blah blah... i don't know i just had a total breakdown a couple of weeks later and was being really crazy and reckless with my life because i thought if i died everything would be alright. okay maybe that was a bit too personal but i'm not ashamed, everyone has their moments (this song is proof).

i think this song is about getting caught up in the whirlwind that is life. taking life and making the most of it (straight no chaser). thats the way he lives and he likes it, only sometimes he is afraid that he is so swept up that he is going to lose himself (always be there face i live with). "War on all sides" means something like everything in life is attacking who you are and what you are trying to do in some way or another but sometimes you just have to deal or ignore it in order to remember who you are cause "there's nothing like losing you." sometimes you can't ignore the pain of the attacks though so you just have to get away from it all and climb inside yourself annd regain confidence and believe in all the things you know deep down you can accomplish.

i totally used to know how that felt and without this song my now ex and i would have never had a way to communicate our lives to eachother while i was away at school. so, thank god for this song!! plus it is really melancholy which i can ALWAYS appreciate.

i think this song is about a breakdown one may experience after the end of a very deep relationship. the narrator expects everything to end all happily, she'll realize her mistake and it'll end like some meg ryan movie; they'll walk into the sunset and all that crap. he needs to be with her again even if it isn't real, even if it is only in his dreams. he also still believes that they were meant to be therefore they will have another shot at it in the next life. unfortunately, it seems she is not quite the little angel he thought she was and is perhaps not the perfect gal for him afterall--he is unwilling to fully realize this though.

i love this song more than words but i have to say
the lyrics "i always catch the clock at 11:11" freaked me out because i can totally relate to all of this song (having my own konstantine) but that part struck something in me. when my boyfriend and i were still together i would always catch the clock at 11:11 (both of them) and touch green and wish for good things in our relationship. i think that that is what is sort of implied in the song too since that 11:11 thing is common knowledge around these so. cal. part and all.

to me, this song is about a relationship that at one point felt like destiny for both involved. i get the notion that the narrator is not giving up on the love even though the other person has. he understands his lover more than she problems understands herself; she is unwilling to surrender to their perfect fate. the two lovers were meant to be together just as her grandparents were meant to be (thus the circus references) but she is only walking by. he feels complete and content with her around; he thinks that has found the love of his life while she is still looking for hers--"why do you look when you've already found it." unfortunately he is not enough for her and all he is left with is the constant reminders of her.
