i've been a dredg fan for a while now and have gotten my friends hooked on them too. the thing i like about them is that they write observationaly most of the time instead of from within themselves. like this song which i think is about writing and it's time that people start writing original stuff that later on down the road will be apriciated. also i think the line "until they're torn out and pasted, see the inside of irony" is "until they're torn out and pasted into the inside of my memory." listening to the real version here it makes a bout 10x more sense than "see the inside of irony." i mean maybe i'm wrong who knows. even if it is irony then hey the song is still sweet. i wish these guys would come to cleveland already. |

I'll agree that this is probably one of the top 3 best songs on the cd... maybe even 1 or two... This is another song that definately hits my heart really hard whenever I listen to it. I swear Coldplay has a satilite and they're spying on me when they write these songs. Cause they're all spies :) |

Dan Damnitall I totally agree with you. This song really hits home for me, because that's the way I feel right now... the one way love thing. Just knowing that she's alive and somewhere on the earth is enough for me. Probably my theme song for me and my friend, but not our "song" song. Our song-song belongs to Coldplay :) |

Part of me wants to think of this song as a love song and part of me senses something different. "I drove by your scenery, all the while I died that night, please come back, tell me it's all right..." I think I've been in this situation before... like he's in love with someone, and every time he sees her even just something that reminds him of her he dies a little bit inside because he wants her and wants her to love him or at least tell him that everything's ok. Either that or she died and he wants to be reassured that everything will be alright without her.
I'd like to know what that line "I knew right then I'd carve your name" is about. From what I can figure out it's another way of saying "I knew right then you would be the one I want to spend the rest of my life with." Now that I think of the classroom circle shit... this song sounds REALLY personal. I would guess that he met someone at a real young age in school and loved her ever since and maybe she died or moved away or something. Maybe the driving by the scenery is him driving by where she used to live and dies a little every time from the pain of losing her. oh well, just a thought. |

so this conversation has turned to a sellout/i heard of this band first thing. i'm gonna say that, i just heard this band a couple months ago when i saw chimaira at the odeon in cleveland. i think the bill went something like hotwire, time is the enemy, 36 crazyfists, god forbid, then chimaira. i regret buying a chimaira shirt, as i realize now that I got bitterness the star that i should have bought a 36 crazyfists shirt. i remember they were the best band there. totally blew everyone off the stage. as for "i heard of them first," i will respond to that with this: i didn't hear these guys 4 years ago like exerrex did, i just found out about 'em like a couple months ago. still, not a lot of people know about them. they're a very underground band. i don't concider myself one that jumped on the bandwagon and listened to 36 crazyfists, because NOBODY in my hometown of akron has heard of them. this is like staind. i was with them since way before ANYONE knew about dysfunction. i was even into tormented long long before they re-released it online. i do hope that 36 doesn't pull a staind and make their next cd more radio-friendly, although i fear i've cursed them... i did the exact thing as staind... i told my one friend, then my other friend, then another friend... same three friends i told about staind... oh well... as for the song, it's great. lol |
