| For those of you who are agnostic, or for those of you who just don't see the religious aspect of this song, I want to say that you have your opinion. It is valid and you all are entitled to your own view. That's the beauty of music. Every lyric and every note can be adapted to whatever you want. What Lifehouse means for what I've seen (and the inspiration that I find from this song) is that this is about God. I really can't see any other form to it. God is the rock in the storm. He is the one thing that will save us from everything that will come against us. I don't mean to preach here, but that's what this site is about; to write what each song means to you. I listen to this song when I'm feeling lost and it reminds me that God is there watching me. He knows what I'm going through and all I have to do is look for Him and pray to Him and He will find me and I will be saved. I want you all to know, so maybe you can find the faith that I've found (again, not to preach or to denounce, just so that the people that were in the shoes I was in a few years ago might follow in my path) that faith is not something that is given to you, that it is CHOSEN. I see this in the lyrics. "If I could just see you" shows it to me. It's a CHOICE to see God. Just like it's a choice to see someone on the street that needs your help. Lol. I'm sorry, this is just a big topic to me. In the end, it's your choice, because I believe that God doesn't differentiate between religions, just faith, but I hope that my words, and Lifehouse's lyrics, spring some sort of faith in whoever reads them, because that's what they're intended to do, or so I believe. | |

| As I'm standing here, practicing for an audition for a band as a singer, I'm singing this song. The lyrics to this song lead me along. I haven't read the whole thread of posts, but I know that this song is about God. I never had any doubts about this. Listen to the lyrics, people. How could you think anything different? God is...everything. That's why I'm practicing singing to this song. If its meant to be, if God gave me a talent to be a singer, then why would I sing a song to practice for an audition other than a song singing his praise? I love my Lord, and so does Lifehouse. This song is AMAZING and so is the Lord that they're singing to. | |

| Ok, so a long time ago I got on here ranting about how JesusHatesLosers is wrong and this is not a crappy song. Well, now i understand his position. My g/f and I have this as our 'song' and in the interviening time that this site has been down (far too long mind you), I've had a revalation. This song DOES cry out to every emotional kid out there. I'm not saying that's a bad thing (this situation DID happen to him, he's just putting it in a song), but I just dont see the same meaning as I might have a year or two ago. Don't get me wrong, I still love the song and i still see it as 'our song', but what I've found is that its really only striking when you listen to it when you're on an emotional high (or low if you will). Lol...i guess i wont get what i want out of this post...mr jesushateslosers to come on and reply and find out that SOMEONE on this page has grown up and moved on...but i guess that the rest of you should know that even a song like this loses some of its potency after a few years. To all of you out there listening to this for the first time, fell however you want. Reply to me...yell at me how I'm wrong, that this is a timeless epic and how it will never lose any meaning...but look up some of my older posts. | her name isnt really konstantine...its kelly or karen or something that starts with a 'k' (cant remember right now). The Konstantine comes from the fact that she's always been there (the 'constant'). you can also see it when he says "i can spell confusion with a K and i can like it" means he can spell confusion by spelling her name. Konstantine is typically spelt with a C also (like confusion). Thanx to this site cause its the peeps on here that i got this info from. A few months ago i was in the same boat you're in. Peace. | |

Finally i'm able to comment now that the site'll let me stay logged in... Ok, all you people out there coming in here to bash on this song, please, dont. I understand your viewpoints and accept your opinions but please know this...I cant STAND Incubus. I think that they need lessons in what music is and how to write lyrics. They write paragraphs and put music to it (please, no offense to Incubus fans out there), but im not going to go to an incubus page and say "Man, this song sucks, the guy cant sing or write or anything. You guys should really listen to yadayada band cause they're so much better, just trying to show you guys the light and all". Please, the people who love this song or band or whatever will like this song whether you like it or not. I love this song. That is my opinion. It is an opinion that is commonly shared here. Yours however is not. As for all you people out there saying that emo and something corporate is 'mainstream', sorry to say that it isnt. Yes, admittedly, there is a sudden wave of 'emo' out there in the national spotlight, but that by no means warrants calling emo 'mainstream' now. If you think it is, appearantly you dont live in Mulletville, USA where the kids cant get whiter but the music is ALWAYS nelly or eminem or some other no-talent one hit wonder where there's always a 'next big artist'. Rap (or hip-hop or whatever you wanna call it) is mainstream. Yes, mainstream IS a bad thing and i hope that emo never gets to that point but if it does, there's nothing we can do about it. When alls said and done, carson daly really IS what people listen to. And carson ISNT telling them all to listen to emo. At least not REAL emo. Face it, nothing short of an assassination would stop it. And as for showing us all the light and leading us to better music, please show us. Im ALWAYS open to hearing new music. Actually, i never really listened to emo until a year ago when a friend of mine played me some Further Seems Forever and The Juliana Theory and I was hooked. I would LOVE for you to tell me what there is to listen to, please just DONT tell me what i SHOULDNT listen to. Accept that i/we love this song and get over it. Ok, i'll get off my soap box now. If you have a legit argument with me, go ahead. If its just to call me an idiot for liking this song, dont bother, i wont waste my time. |

| cheek, dont get down on her. Now more than ever, people are coming upon emo as their 'new' music even tho its been around 15+ years. Its just hitting the pop scene and all anyone that will spend any time on here (well, people like her) dont know what REAL emo is. People dont understand that emo is music that is spawned from raw emotion, given its name. She's just 'new age emo' that IS more teeny-bopper than it should be but OH WELL. TJT gets more back into what emo was before it started to get popular like NFG and SoCo and DC (NFG not so much nemore, they're getting more into punk the more i listen to em, give me the goodbye song thank you), back when screaming was typical. Most of these people that are newly introduced to the music and dont understand the emo roots. As for me, im riding this pop-culture wave as it comes in. I want to know where this is going. I just hope it doesnt get as dilluted as its sib-genre punk rock is getting. | |

| LOL Great song. I admit i never new DC before Screaming Infidelities (im a bigger loser than i knew) but please dont bash at me for it. I've been emo fan for longer than i can remember and not knowing what Chris eats every morning for breakfast or what time he usually craps during the day doesnt mean that I'm any less of a fan of his work. I'm a singer/songwriter too and I know when music and lyrics are good and when they're bad (cough cough INCUBUS). And XkannenX, please dont defile STD by putting them with you by saying 'Let's just hope all of you morons never flock to Saves The Day like that...' Saves The Day is AMAZING. They deserve to have people know them regardless of how into them they are. LOL...even tho i wish they would've stayed on stage longer at the Pop Disaster Tour. | This was the first SoCo song i ever heard. Now i have all their cds (well, the ones you can find at your local record store). These guys are simply amazing. Ive just recently been introduced to a wave of great emo (lol, im listening to this song now and he just said 'its to jimmy eat world'). This song (to me at least) gives the picture of a guy that almost got his dream girl and he knew it, but screwed it up newayz. When it hit him what happened, he went nutz (the 'did u know i missed you?' interlude). But in the end, like coming out of a tunnel, he shows some light in saying 'and we go to sleep, but this time not alone / and you kiss me in your living room' This is why everyone who loves this song can relate to it (and maybe those that dont like it cant cause they're all heartless newayz) cause they've all been through this situation at some point or another. And the fact that this is an unfinished piece is amazing. When my band actually gets up and running, i hope to have something like this going for me. no one will ever be able to touch the emotion in this song because it is REAL emotion. I bet more than one tear was shed while writing this song, at least in the beginning months. Every moving song NEEDS that. | |

| Ok, this is my turn to rant. I cant stand all these people who think they're 'underground' punk or emo. There's a bunch of em at school who bash at Blink cause they're mainstream. Who cares? If its good music, its good music regardless of what kind of music or genre it is. Thats the same thing with this song. Just because a bunch of people love this song and just because everyone can relate to it, doesnt make it any worse than it was before when only a few hundred did. I mean, one of my favorite bands is NFG and yes, they are starting to go mainstream, but i dont care. As long as I still enjoy listening to them, i will. I'm a songwriter and i'm 'in' a band (lol, inside joke) and i know that my so-called 'underground' fans are my least valuable. Just like people who only like a sports team if they're doing well, you 'undergrounders' are only fair-weather fans. Who cares if a band is popular? I know that konstantine will be a good, meaningful song regardless. | |
