Godsmack – Voodoo Lyrics 23 years ago
Rowen and anubis seem right to me. I did see The Serpent & the Rainbow (years ago), it was about voodoo in Haiti (from what I remember), and it did have to do with raising from the dead (or at least something that could put someone in a state that imitates death until they are revived later). So as much as everyone likes to assume that every song is about drugs or addiction, I'd have to believe that really isn't.

Alien Ant Farm – Wish Lyrics 23 years ago
It's about those "pompous" people (possibly other bands) who feel better when they see other people fail: "proud is to watch us fall" "make wishes, don't break mine".

Incubus – Out From Under Lyrics 23 years ago
I love the lyrics of this song! It is a great example of alliteration "See the Sky", assonance "to resIst Is to pIss In the wInd", & consonance "to reSiSt iS to piSS". All of those repeated sounds are packed into one clever little song--it's poetry!

R.E.M. – Losing My Religion Lyrics 23 years ago
I actually recall stipe calling this "an obsession love song". The speaker is obsessed with someone and will go to great lengths "the lengths that I will go to" to get the other person's attentions. The speaker fantasizes about this person and tries to keep up with them "keep up with you/keep an eye on you". He also tries to change himself in hopes that he might get the person's attention & affection, choosing his confessions, changing his beliefs to revolve around this person, second guessing whether or no he is saying the right thing.
