Dead Poetic – Bliss Tearing Eyes Lyrics 23 years ago
Could this song be any more amazing? Honestly.. I love the harder stuff on the cd to but.... man, this song is... wow. I e-mailed Zach and asked about this song and here's what he had to say about it...

"Bliss Tearing Eyes was very personal song for me and brandon. So many people look up to me and the other guys, and sometimes i don't think they should because I am everything but a role model, and that is what us, as a band wanted to say with this album. That we screw up all the time and sometimes we do things that some people look down upon, but all in all we are just people like everyone else. Its OK to mess up. Everybody does it, but only the cool people admit that they do. That is what is wrong with christianity today. Everyone wants to point the finger at someone else when they really need to be turning it on themselves. I love god and no judgment on me will ever change that. I just wanted to tell God how much he meant to me in that song. and basically say thank you for everything he has done in my life. Bleed one more time for me- is saying that I am still going to need god from now until forever and i won't stop needing him because I am nothing but perfect."

An amazing song by an amazing band.. lyrically perfect, musically moving.. what more could you want in a song?

Dead Poetic – Arlington Arms Lyrics 23 years ago
Quote from the lead singer about this song...

"Arlington Arms is an apartment complex around where we live. My girlfriend suggested that that would be a cool name for a song. When she said that it prompted me to write a song about suburban america and how God is basically no part of the typical American Dream. And I wont be part of that. 'I wont fall on the knife that killed the American dream'."

Dead Poetic – Stereochild Lyrics 23 years ago
I love the meaning behind this song. Especially as a Christian people seem to have a ton of preconceptions about how I will be around certain groups of people or how they think I will judge somebody else or whatever. I really connect with where Brandon, the lead singer of Dead Poetic, was coming from when he wrote this song. He has this to say about it...

"We are dedicated to breaking peoples stereotypes of us. Stereotype has got to be one of the most useless ideas in existence. We all feel that we often prove people wrong with the way we act. We are all Christians - and a lot of people expect us to be judgmental, condemning, and all of the other stereotypes. But the truth is, we are people who just want to love and hang out with other people - regardless of what you believe, how you live, or what you do. Lets be friends first."

I couldn't agree more with his whole feelings on that.

Dead Poetic – The Corporate Enthusiast Lyrics 23 years ago
I adore this band. here's what Bradon.. the lead singer of Dead Poetic has to say about the song...

"I think I wrote it with an overall sarcastic tone. The whole song is extremely sarcastic. It's not a "shot" at anyone inparticular, its just a parody of the anti-corporate attitude in music. We aim to sign to major label if and when the chance comes. And when that happens, sarcastically - the corporate beast will have us - we will have fallen in the trap - ha. Its basically saying everything that we won't do. We refuse to let someone tell us what type of music expresses us - we refuse to change for anyone. And basically - the "Corporate Beast" will never have us."

Dead Poetic – Burgundy Lyrics 23 years ago
Hey! I thoughtI would be the geek who posts what the artist has to say about the song so... here goes..

"The song is about waiting for God. For me, waiting for God is difficult and frustrating. Sometimes I get so fed up with being here (on earth) and dealing back and forth with sin - that I just want to go up, and it'll all be over. Being a Christian isn't easy because you faced with so much temptation - temptation that other people fall into without feeling bad about. But us Christians are bombarded with convction. And lets face it - its tough. Its tough to keep resisting and standing your ground. All of this gets tiresome - and like I said, I just want to go home - and then it'll all be over. I won't have to deal with sin anymore. So I'm desperately waiting on God to come get me. I've been here forever - waiting. When you wait so long - you begin to give up. But I can't give up - because when God told me that he's open my eyes to truth and when he told me that he'd be back for me. I believed him. I will never stop believing in God - and this is what has got me into this battle with sin. But I believe Him - and I will NEVER stop believing in Him. so I'll just stay here and wait. I hope that that explains it - if not - keep asking me. But for people who don't believe what I believe - I'm sure the song can apply to something going on in your life - so make the song work for you. I hope there's something in there for everyone."

Dead Poetic – Four Wall Blackmail Lyrics 23 years ago
This song is really interesting musically. I love the way it contrasts between the mellow.. almost gentle verses and then it becomes more brutal with the bridge. Awesome lyrics, as usual with Dead Poetic. Go buy the cd, you will not be dissapointed

Better Than Ezra – Rewind Lyrics 23 years ago
I adore this song and I don't get how no one has commented on it yet. I think this is one of Better Than Ezra's best songs. Certain lines of it really strike me. Who hasn't been driving around listening to something thinking they are rockstars. The part about seeing a crash and having the song become the soundtrack is really good because I know that I associate songs with the people, place and activity I was doing while I heard it. I really like the lyrics to this song and I feel it is really underated as far as their songs go.

0 Men – The Words That Make Me Lyrics 23 years ago
These lyrics are simple but.. I kinda think that's good. It reminds me of a poem that I would have wrote while in middle school.. maybe if I actually heard the song instead of just reading the lyrics I would feel differently

Greenwheel – Breathe Lyrics 23 years ago
I think this song is about being physically seperated "I'm counting the signs and cursing the miles in between" from that person whom you love so much. You were confortable with that person and had built everything around them. They and everything you had with them was your life, your home. This song is about the utmost pain you feel when for whatever reason you are away from that person.

Matthew Good Band – Middle Class Gangsters Lyrics 23 years ago
I think Matt is making fun of al of the "thugs" you see in the middle class.. what ghetto are they from that made them so hard? It's a good song..I think it's funny because I live in a middle class area and we have so many kids here that think they are gangsters.

Matthew Good Band – Suburbia Lyrics 23 years ago
I adore this song... it could be the theme song for the little suburban hell I'm stuck in right now. I think this song is amazing at capturing the feeling of dismality that tends to accompany places like that. It seems like everyone is just going through the motions but it's all very empty and vacant somehow. For me, this song is about just looking around where you are and being totally disgusted and wanting to break away.
