I think he's talking about the hussle of life all around him. People in such a hurry to be known, or to accomplish things in their life. Everybody wants to be famous. "everybody's got their lives to shout". And he doesn't understand what all that is worth in the end. "I didn't listen when they gave the price". But he is more of a quiet type, while everyone else runs around and he's saying to them that they really don't even know what they're getting in the end either, so why are they acting like they are winning some huge prize. "you'll find there's nothing to hold up to". |

wow, a lot of you are idiots...look, one of you were right, it's called Watch the World, and everything he describes is his dream that he's having that all the things wrong in this world are turned around and changed and made for the better. The letter he's sending is probably (yes) either across the sea to the rest of the countries of the world or just a pretty phrase to use as a message to (shudder) God...when the "sky clears" and there is the "few" left...he could probably mean the end when all of the bad things are done away with and the truly good people in the world are left behind. I dunno...I'd rather it not be about god, but, hey, after reading the article in A.P. its probably not that far off. |
