| State Radio – Indian Moon Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Songs can always have multiple interpretations (which is one of the points of a site like this, and to forget that is rather shortsighted), but its original intent was indeed as a love song written for a wedding. | |

| my spanish 1 ..(or was it 2..) class translated it and had to memorize it..we sang it in front of a small crowd. I love this song.. the spanish say so much the english can't, even though the english version is also quite pretty. | |
| Caedmon's Call – Ballad Of San Francisco Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| This song applies to my life 100% right now, aside from it being about San Francisco. I mean litterally... I feel like i'm almost.. stuck here. and by myself. so, yeah. i'm gonna go.. get some coffee... or something. | |
| Dashboard Confessional – The Good Fight Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| I'd have to agree that the song, no matter how it was intended, could be interpreted a lot of ways.. and that's probably how it *was* intended, with more than one meaning. Lyrics are so much better that way. | |
| Shawn Colvin – Sunny Came Home Lyrics | 23 years ago |

This song is definitely about fire. Heh. A pyromaniac Sunny is. Or tries to be. She comes home with a book, some tools, a list of names, and a vengeance. It also says she wants to make 'a few small repairs' meaning we know she's getting back at people for whatever reason, and she doesn't believe in just ignoring what people did to her (doesn't believe in transcendence ie rising above it). On to the fire: First, the chorus says flat out "into the fire" whether it's a fire she started or not, we don't know yet. The bridge is the kicker: the kids and the sweater? Why would you get the kids and a sweater? Your house is on fire and you're gonna be standing in the cold. Dry/wind? Phreakiegirl is on the money there. Wind would spread the fire. Count the years you always knew it: SHe's been shafted for a long time, and she's been planning this. Light a match go on and do it: The clearest fire refrence to Sunny herself, aside from the chorus and the line, "The world is burning down," at the end of the song. So it's most likely physically that the fire is happening, although it really could be metaphorically, as in she's burning everyone who ever screwed with her, and burning her bridges, etc. But I still think it's a fire song about a girl who's had enough. |
