this is about how people look for concrete proof of God's existence, but everything that surrounds us is proof of His existence. sorry, i hope i don't sound too preachy but this is my view on it:
"You watch the wrong example then conclude a falacy"-this is talking about how people look at the small-minded hypocritical Christians and assume that they are all fakes and get the wrong idea about what a Christian shoud be.
"My actions you speak of is easier said than done"-this is talking about how its easier to say that u are a christian but its hard to actually be one. people think that christians are supposed to be perfect examples but that is impossible.
"You take my words out of context, your message of wrong is right"-so many people twist the bible around and make it appear closed-minded and wrong. in the movie where the heart is, a girl has a child out of wedlock. a group of people claiming to be christians sends her a hate letter saying that the baby is an abomination. this is a twisted image of christian values that some people send out to others. sorry that was the only example i could think of. |

this is an awesome song, one of 311's best. the first time i heard this was at a 311 concert and it was one of the best nights of my life, so it brings back good memories. what makes it so good is the fact that you will never hear another song quite like it, it's totally original. |

this song is about being forced into something you don't believe. i am a christian but i was not raised as one and it was not forced upon me. it makes me angry when christians tell people that they will go to hell or come off like they are so much better than non christians. so many christians are so closed minded about peoples decisions when they should be accepting of others. christians also tend to focus way to much on the rules and what you are doing wrong instead of the fact that we are human and we all mess up regardless of what we believe. i don't believe you should force your children to go to church or to believe what you want them to, it should be their own decision and you should love them just the same. sorry this really isn't about the song i just felt like i should say something. |
