| System of a Down – Deer Dance Lyrics | 23 years ago |

I don't think this song has to due with police brutality in general. Actually I think it has to do with a lot of militia armies in third world countries. For instance look at Bosnia. These people were persecuted by the Serbs for their cultural and religious beliefs and were murdered in the name of genocide and thrown into the mountain sides. This kind of shit has happened all across the world in the 20th century. Clinton finally got pressured to do something and he calmed down the hype by showing footage of us helping them for awhile and then bam! It's over they are free nothing to worry about. Which is utter bullshit because you can't stop these men with "fully automatics" from pushing around the weak by jailing there leader. So what! They still kill to this day. I think this song majorly insists on the lack of moral standards that our government has for the rest of the world. Again yes the song is about police brutality but on a world scale it's about brutality by the elite. The best part of this song and the most moving is Push them around, A deer dance, invitation to peace, War staring you in the face, dressed in black. With a helmet, fierce, Trained and appropriate for the malcontents, For the disproportioned malcontents, The little boy smiled, it'll all be well, The little boy smiled it'll all be well, It basically describes that the government can show us they are smiling and happy now and we can put out a benefit cd for them (Bosnians) and every thing is okay.....and then the camara goes off and they turn their backs and allow these religious fanatics to exercise genocide. Beliefs are bullshit. |

| System of a Down – Science (feat. Arto Tunçboyacıyan) Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| I personally think this song is a balance of science and faith. Faith in this song is not directed to religion, yet directed to faith in ourselves, our enviroment, our future. For instance in today's society Bob COULD perform the duty of welding the two pieces of metal together, but why not let this modern up to date technological wonder we call computers and AI do it for us? This I think is what Serj is getting at. He's saying that we as humans have relied too much on science and it is turning us into robots and making us lazy. The faith reference is the "faith" we have in ourselves and our peers. Soon we will believe that we as humans can't do anything without the assistance of machines and computers. Ironic isn't? Especially since movies such as Terminator and the Matrix have come about in the last twenty years. I know this is far fetched and way of topic but it's ironic how the government doesn't seem to mind controversial movies like these....perhaps it's a sedative for us and a test by them to see how we react to this "fictional" future. I mean just look at how many war movies have come out in the last year since September 11th. What a push for recruits in our military huh? You go to the movie and see these guys fighting for their country and winning. What a crock of bullshit. I would never risk my ass for a country that deliberately knew and (call me paranoid) constructed this past event on Sept. 11th. I mean think about it since then they have done nothing but push for more "security". I'm sorry but what the government wants is more control, not security. And you know what....WE ARE GIVING IT TO THEM, SLOWLY BY SLOWLY. But what do I know, I'm a paranoid schizophrenic. | |
