this song made me sad as a child. because it isn't very good. i like the way, however, that the song is from the perspective of a complete goon, who is hungry for intercourse, and can't wait until he gets married. |

precisely. i'm rather fond of the words, though haven't a clue what to make of them. the song remains, nonetheless, one of my favourites of all time. ever. times two. |

i apologise, i regret the post i made above - i think the interpretation is false. nonetheless, you may be interested to hear that hopesfall no longer consider themselves a christian band - probably because the line up has changed to the extent that the original christian core is no longer there. |

just for the record, the singer & guitarist of hopesfall work as 'escorts' (aka man-whores- read interview at lambgoat.com) when not touring. perhaps that's what this is about, who knows? i don't think these lyrics are great, but others on the album (esp. manipulate the eclipse) are. |

I met them on tuesday before the bristol (UK) show and they were seriously nice guys - the guitarist adam was bloody hilarious...funny guy. Maybe they are 'spiritual' (though i'm fairly unsure what that means) they seemed pretty light-hearted in a good way. Great band, great guys...and a bloody incredible show. |

it's funny how the song structure of this...sequences and stuff are identical to Praise Chorus. I think that's actually quite effective. |

| Poison the Well – Turn Down Elliot Lyrics

i think the chorus is actually "hands held tight around my neck" instead of "leave me." I know it says that in the booklet, but when they put the song on their site ages ago the lyrics printed there were: "hands held tight around my neck" (i think.) |

| Saves the Day – Nightingale Lyrics

the bit that really gives me the chills (ie most powerful bit in my opinion) is the bit where the guitar cuts out briefly ("the nightingales....") and then they play 1/2 speed "and they sigh at the relief". That bit is so amazing! Best bit on the cd i think :)
My favourite lyrics on the cd too! |

does anybody know why co-wrote this song? I mean, who the guy actually is? Though it would be cool if he/she was an opera singer :) |

| At the Drive-In – Skips On The Record Lyrics
| 23 years ago
|
i think I know what it's about - but i'm honestly not sure.
They mention Tiennamen Square and Mao, and there is a big portrait of Mao outside the Forbidden City in Tiennamen Sq, in China. There are also a lot of natal references ("afterbirth","contraction"). Perhaps he is writing about the law restricting numbers of offspring in China?
However, my other slight insight was the kind of bitter-sounding reference to promiscuity ("syphilis flirtation") and references to cars and stuff. Tongue in cheek?
Shit I don't know I only got the record the day before yesterday. |

it says ebroglio on the cd itself too - oh well the song rocks anyways. ATDI mention or talk about Juarez in lots of their songs, like Invalid Litter Dept. |

hey did anybody else see a show called The Man from UNCLE? I don't know if they ever showed it outside of UK but I remember seeing it when I was a kid. The main character was called Napoleon Solo. Just thought I'd let you know (if you didn't already). |

yeah me too - even now when I get a new cd from them (well, one I didn't have before) it takes me a few listens before I like it at all. I think that's a good thing though, cause there's so much detail in there, it shows that it takes time to appreciate it. |

This is the only song on Maladroit that I love - I'm not saying I hate the cd (I mean, nothing could live up to Pinkerton) but the chords are so nicely layered and stuff...ah i just really like it. I wouldn't say I really like the lyrics to the new cd, but still, this song rocks. |

i know why it's called "majour"...i think.
Say this to yourself - "bad taste in my mouth/you would think i'm majour"

| Glassjaw – Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence Lyrics

I remember lying in bed the first time i heard this and just feeling a complete cold rush over my body, like i always do when i hear some really powerful music. If you listen carefully at the very end to what they say after the song has ended, they say something like:
"i don't think you need to do that again do you"
and daryl says "no". |
