I think it's about smoking marijuana. " drug that's the high and not the pill" is a little too direct a reference. "the more i get of you stranger it feels", the more you smoke the more stoned you get. Grey describes the gloom of his daily routine and smoking some pot relieves some of that. "My eyes become large and the light that you shine can be seen"= dilated pupils and moments of intoxicated insights. |

I think this song is about how he gets angry at how hard it is get some ass sometimes. He walks around 'with an impure mind' thinking about sex but not getting any. 'We've blinded ourselves sick' implies that he masturbates and it doesn't appease his urges. Anticipation burns and his 'unquenchable' lust could be temporarily assuage if someone would just give it up but that scenerio never arrives. 'Bloody knuckles' might imply that he goes around fighting people to release some of his sexual frustration. getting nothing takes it's toll and as a result he is a violent sociopath who is not to be trusted.
Come on kids AMH is bad ass lets get some comments on em even if to just tell me I'm way off and twisting his words into something perverted. |

I always thought he was discribing an afterlife experience. He clears his grave stone of leaves and realizes that he is dead. Then he recalls the way he died on the kitchen or bathroom floor (could be the tub but how many people got tile tubs?). Next thing he sees the bright light and gets confused. then the remaining lines i guess would be him facing judgement. The whole Manchurian Candidate part might mean that he finally realized that his life was just some test conducted by some divinity. (of course it's possible I'm way off) |

I'm a big fan of AMH's music and at the risk of someone Freudian accusations of me hearing what I want to hear (which I don't think I'm sick enough to want to hear this stuff) here is my interpretation of the lyrics. To me it sounds like he's saying that he's a psycho who likes to mutilate chicks he has sex with. Stink filled spasms in his colostomy bag seems to imply anal sex. He has sex with them and then he is "steeped in his misogeny (hate of women) so he cuts them open and runs his hands through her guts. She is seamless because he has not yet sewed her up yet. "Take me , Take my life" is what he hears the women saying to him in his head. I think this guy's got some issues with women but the music is so angry it's hard not like it. |

i believe that Maynard is describing drug addiction and his ambiguity about his feelings toward it. The first verse implies his addiction causes him to do bad stuff. The Jesus and Mary references are his cries for help from the church who responds with verses of scripture and Biblical fables that are not very useful, as opposed to divine influence to help him. The third verse, "I am a worthless liar... I am... I will", are the drugs talking to him. "Why can't we not be sober, Just wanna start this over" implies that he lacks the willpower to quit but if he could go back he would have never started. |
