I was supirsed this one wasn't here already, it never occurred to me to add it, anyway, here's my interpretation: this is easily a song aobut growing up in poverty, and in a world where the youth is fucked up and constantly fucked with. in a worldd where we're not veiwed so much as teens but as demographics, buisnesses are constantly trying to make a quick buck off us, in our youth obsessed culture. Violence also plays a major role in this song, there are many images of violence, and near the end there are some issues pof conformity brought up, and a small renouncing of organized religion. |

actually, no, i don't care anymore, i don't care if you think i'm male or female, as long as you do it in an orderly fashion. anyway, wow, i've wasted a lot of space in this thread, allow me to give my interpritation of the osng to me, this song is aobut how the government uses the public, and thrusts them into situations they can't do anything aobut, hence the "we're left with no arms right in the power struggle" this can be a double meaning as well, arms can take on the literal sense, as in you're pushed into a battle feiled with two severed limbs, which takes the title "chupa capra" into account. for those of you who don't know, a chupa capra is a beast who mutilates farm animals, it ranks right up there with big foot and the loch ness monster the other meaning could possibly be arms as in weaponry, no means of defending yourself in this power struggle. anyway, i hope some of you found this helpful |

I'm fully aware there are two verisons of Cencus, a demo version and a studio take, i have them both as well. Side of the Freeway is called Pig, or (bacon) if you want to go by the old title. if you actually listen to the lyrics, you hear serj say "Fuck You Pig!!" over and over for some time Want me to Try is Highway Song, becuase if you listen to the lyrics, you can hear serj say "The Highway Song complete" al it took was some god ol' fashioned obervation and Deduction |

this is obviously a song trashing cops interesting factoid: this song has gone througt the most name changes that any other soad song back in 95' when the song was written, it was called P.I.G. when the song was recorded onto a demo tape, it was caleld (bacon) but the real title remain P.I.G. many soad websites referred to the song as "P.I.G. (aka Bacon)" when these songs were take from system's studio, the hacker made up names for all of them, this one was titled "on the sid eof the freeway" becuase the hacker wasn't as knowledgable in soad as some are now there is the working title for when and if the song is put onto an album.. which is Mr, Jack persoanlly, i prefer P.I.G. (aka Bacon) |
