I'm not posting this in order to tell what I think this song means. I'm hoping a new fan of this amazing band will read this and realize just how lyrically talented Layne Staley truly was. His memory will never die. I just want to say rest in peace to all the musicians lost thier life but never thier soul. They all rest in us. RIP Layne Stayley (Alice In Chains) and James Lynn Straight (Snot), the two most talented men to ever walk this earth.

To me this song seams to be about suicide. It sounds like Lajon is asking someone while they lie in thier coffin how they could do this, and if only they could see the pain they've caused they would wish they'd never done such a thing.

This song seems to me to be about a person who maybe had a sister or someone he lived with come home one day and tell him that she had been raped. The singer doesn't know how to deal with it so he just stays silent about how he feels, but inside he wants to find the person that did this to whoever he is speaking about in the song.
