This is quite possibly my favourite song, it helps me get through when I'm depressed or tired of life. I think the main message to this song is that you should forget all the stuff that stresses you out and live life to the max, revelling in how amazing it is. The song hints at the importance of close friendships in life ("keeping good things close") and that a true friend always stays close and is there for you. May even have a little dig at religion when it says "I won't let it mess with my head/ Won't let it mess with sleeping friends", yet still acknowledges life is truly incredible "Grin and live it/ While you can... With wonderment". At the time of me hearing this song I was in a very confused state- religion WAS messing with my head and I was worried about life etc. This song actually gave me confidence to enjoy life and just really go for it! |
