Please wake-up and smell the coffee. Music is NOT political. For anyone getting their political information from "Rock Stars," please wake the fuck up! Don't expect the true information out there to fall on your lap via Dave Mathews at the fucking concert. Alice Cooper couldn't have said it better when talking about the Vote for Change tour:
"If you're listening to a rock star in order to get your information on whom to vote for, you're a bigger moron than they are. Why are we rock stars? Because we're morons. We sleep all day, we play music at night and very rarely do we sit around reading the Washington Journal."

It's not about Right or Left, it's about right and wrong. They're Islamic Extremist (Osama, Al-Sadr) out there that have all ready DECLARED WAR ON THE U.S.! Why not bring the fight to there house? Now we have a battlefield, that is Iraq. NOT Iowa! Support our troops in Iraq, they're making history in that region! |

"My Own Summer" was written in Seattle, during the hot summer of 1994. Trapped inside of his room by the heat and sun, Chino boarded up his windows with aluminum foil and wished for "an apocalyptic-type thing" where all of the people on the streets would disappear and the sun would go away. He called this dreamworld "his own summer," which is where the song title comes from. |
